Excitement keeps rising in the gaming industry as everyone awaits the next installment of theCall of Dutyseries. This game would bring back theBlack Opsseries to fans, but there’s a big change in the narrative that has been going around for a while. In the past, it was said that this new game would be developed by none other than Raven Software, but a new leak suggests Treyarch would be the lead developer for it.

One thing that stays the same is that this game will bring back those long-crowded campaigns for the franchise. It is a much-needed change that everyone would appreciate after the fiasco that wasModern Warfare 3in 2023.
Treyarch is set to takeCall of Dutyback to its roots
Over the years, theCall of Dutyfranchise has carved a niche in the gaming industry. People used to talk about its explosive campaigns, exciting stories, and legendary characters. From Captain Price to Ghost to Mason, people remember most of them.

On the other hand, the gameplay and scenarios featured in these games are also something out of this world. Gamers would no doubt remember them for a long time once they were done. The biggest example of this isModern Warfare, the game that launched back in 2007.
It’s hard for any gamer out there to not remember that incredible yet harrowing nuclear bomb sequence. It’s been equally hard for the developers of these games to make a game as hard-hitting asModern Warfare 1.

Treyarch will be the lead developers of this years Call of Duty game which is rumored to be titled “Black Ops Gulf War”.

A similar thing can be said ofCall of Duty: Black Ops, but in terms of story. While the game did not feature any sequence that could match the intensity of that one inModern Warfare, they made up for it with the story. Most importantly, its climax, which is remembered by everyone as something unforgettable.
Now, gradually, that feeling is gone; those stories are gone.Call of Dutyhas turned into a franchise mainly focused on multiplayer and microtransactions. Activision launches these short-term live service titles to appease fans, who then buy these games only for multiplayer.

Those who cared for the campaign did not get much attention. This was most evident in the last game in the series,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It was a new game that used the name of a 2011 game of a similar name; however, it did not share any other similarities with it.

The worst part about this new game was its campaign, which, depending on who you ask, spanned 3.5 to 4 hours, which is not very long. On the other hand, it was nothing to write home about; a whole lot of exciting trailers ended up being a signal for nothing.
But it looks likeCall of Duty: Black Ops: Gulf War, the upcoming installment in the franchise, would fix that. It would supposedly be the first game in a long time that would have gotten a full 4-year development cycle.
How would an open-worldCall of Dutywork?
One question that continues to linger in the minds of fans is: if this newgame really ends up being open-world, how would it work? Would they tell a non-linear story, or would they turn it into aHomefront 2-like open world?

The curiosity around this is pretty high. Gamers are hyped and interested in seeing what Activision and Treyarch have in store for them. This would also be the firstCall of Dutygame to launch after Microsoft purchased Activision Blizzard.
