When Dwayne Johnson starred inBlack Adam, there were huge expectations from the film, with everyone hoping that DC would get a new lease of life following The Rock’s entry. While we all know how splendidly it all went, Johnson’s hope of returning as the titular hero looks bleak seeing James Gunn and Peter Safran’s plans for DC.
And so, while Johnson may never return to the DC universe, there is anotherBlack Adamstar who is hopeful of returning. Aldis Hodge, who starred as Hawkman and leader of the revered Justice Society in the movie revealed in a recent interview that while he can’t speak directly to Gunn, he would love to remain part of the DC Universe.

Starring as Carter Hall or Hawkman, the fierce and righteous leader of the Justice Society, fans loved his portrayal and the way he carried the storyline. While speaking toScreen Rantin a recent interview, he was asked if he had any discussions withJames Gunnregarding his DCU return and he candidly stated,
“I can’t really speak to that. [Chuckles] You’re gonna have to talk to James about it. But yeah, I don’t know really what’s in store for Hawkman. I will say that I would like to finish out the plans that we had for Hawkman, and sort of revisit them, because there’s such a body of depth when it comes to his whole storyline, and all that kind of stuff. So, if that’s something they’re interested in, my door’s always open for that. But, I know they want to build out a very different world. I can’t speak to whether I’m going to be part of that world, as that’s above my paygrade, but if they want to pick up the phone, I’m always here.”
While there has been no update on theBlack Adamstoryline, whether it will be dropped or become part of DC’s Elsewhere projects, Hodge’s comments have made fans hopeful about his return.

Fans Want Aldis Hodge To Remain Part Of The DCU
As soon as Aldis Hodge’s recent comments about his willingness to return to DC as Hawkman went viral, many DC fans were quick to react. Countless fans across the internet remarked how Hodge’s portrayal of Hawkman was brilliantly in line with the comics and that they would want him to return as well.

And so as James Gunn is busy rebooting the entire DC Universe, maybe he should listen to the cries of DC fans and give Aldis Hodge as Hawkman another chance or maybe cast him in another DC role.
