PlayStation has been renowned for the plethora of first-party games from developers that operate under its banner. The platform has earned the respect of the gaming community; however, some fans can’t help but notice the special treatmentHorizonis receiving.

Consumers love to take in great content, but Sony seems to forget that other more beloved franchises under its belt aren’t receiving the same attention. Guerrilla did a great job with the series, and there appears to be more coming across various mediums soon.
PlayStation Favors Horizon More Than Other Franchises
The popularity of the franchise that Guerrilla started during the last console generation is monumental, and Sony made the decision to port the first game to another platform, which was a historical move. It didn’t take long for the publisher to port the sequel,Horizon Forbidden West, andit didn’t even take a pirating group an hour to crack itand share it for free online. Players would resort to unethical methods to play this series, which is a testament to its popularity.

Perhaps Sony has lost sight of the importance of creating diverse titles that would appeal to everyone. It may be among the heavy hitters, but the company has an obsession to widen the coverage of this franchise across different genres of games like MMOs, a LEGO spinoff, VR games, and a live-action series that is rumored to be a prequel on Netflix.

Horizon Fans Rejoice: PlayStation’s Extended Play Sale Is Well Worth a Look if You Are Looking to Bag a Bargain On a AAA Game
The original game still holds up well, and it may end up getting a remaster or a remake beforeBloodborne, which is quite dated for today’s standards, and the community has been begging for an upgraded version. Perhaps there’s a chance now thatHideaki Nishino is the co-CEO and may giveBloodbornefans the remaster they deserve.
Horizon Is the Golden Goose of the PlayStation Platform
Fans of other first-party games feel like the company has its favorites, and it’s starting to show. Sony will prioritize more popular franchises, but this is too much. Different genres of games may appeal to other audiences, but Sony is spreading them too thin, and players may lose interest if the series keeps getting pushed into their faces.
“Sign the petition!”: PlayStation Fans Go on Overdrive as New Anti-PC Petition Gains Steam
Too much is never good, and there’s a risk that this franchise will grow to be hated and disliked because it’s all Sony talks about. There should be a balance to it all, and the company shouldn’t ignore the other properties and give them the same treatment and chance to bloom.
Sony could be biting off more than it can chew, and the efforts to push this franchise to new heights might be its ultimate downfall. Fans enjoyed the series, but it wouldn’t hurt to do something more that’s under the publisher’s belt and not let it rot.

The gaming community has grown to be vocal, and it won’t be long until the fans unite and let Sony know that they are beginning to grow tired of the amount of content related toHorizon.
