Ubisoft has had a rather rough time as of late with its poorly received announcement regarding the nextAssassin’s Creedtitle,Assassin’s Creed Shadow’s, which has caused players to disapprove of Ubisoft’s decisions.

However, one player hasn’t let this recent controversy stop them, as they have looked back through Ubisoft’s game library and has made a rather popular statement regardingWatch Dogs 2and how they believe it was one of the most underrated games of the last generation.
Ubisoft Had the Right Idea With Watch Dogs 2, but It Has Now Taken a Step in the Wrong Direction
It has been nearly 8 years sinceWatch Dogs 2was released to the public, and it was rather middling in its reception as gamers were unsure about it. Once the game was released, it began to grab attention from the gaming community as it improved on the first game in the franchise in so many ways.
Started playing Watch Dogs 2 again and I genuinely believe it’s one of the most underrated games of last gen.

When it came to the first game in theWatch Dogseries, it began as quite a dark and gritty story that had a few good ideas but only scratched the surface of what aWatch Doggame could actually become once it really took off.

The second game in the franchise expanded on many of the different mechanics and stories that made the first so much fun, whether it be by brightening the world up slightly to make it more colorful and fun or by making the hacking abilities more powerful to encourage players to rely on them more.
No matter what, it looks as though Ubisoft really cared about this franchise and focused all of its efforts on making a unique experience that would have players talking for years. Which it clearly has managed to do.

Gamers Agree That Watch Dogs 2 Was a Fantastic Game and Watch Dogs Legions Was a Letdown
Even thoughAssassin’s Creedis one of the biggest titles in the world, with millions of fans around the world, it barely stays ahead ofWatch Dogsin terms of fan base. Even though this hacker IP had a rough start, it earned its place as one of Ubisoft’s best titles to date, and gamers agree wholeheartedly with that statement.

One of the best parts ofWatch Dogs 2was the characters we met throughout the story. There were some moments where players thought there could have been more emotion or more interactions, but overall one player summarised it perfectly by saying:
It had a soul and character, and characters. Things that, imo, Watch Dogs 1 and Legion missed.

Another gamer has even gone as far as to say that this title may have been the last great game that Ubisoft has ever made, especially after some of its recent backlash over the recentAssassin’s Creedopen-world titles that left players unhappy.
Ubisofts last great game.
This isn’t the first time that Ubisoft has had a major hit franchise under its belt, and hopefully it can return to its glory in a potential fourth game. What did you think aboutWatch Dogs 2? Did you think it was underrated? Let us know in the comments what you think!
