In a behind-the-scenes clip, Lucas was seen speaking with Kit Harington. However, the acclaimed director did not have kind words for the actor, which might have surprised Harington since his performance as Jon Snow received positive reactions from critics and fans. FilmmakerGeorge Lucasdirected 1977’sStar Wars, which spawned one of the most commercially successful multi-media franchises. After selling Lucasfilm and the rights to theStar Warsfranchise to Disney, Lucas has remained away from filmmaking.
However, Lucas briefly returned to directing when he assisted in the making ofGame of Thrones. The filmmaker visited the sets while the eighth season premiere was in production. In abehind-the-scenes video, Lucas gave notes to actorsKit Haringtonand Emilia Clarke after a scene.

Lucas made the above remark about Harington’s acting, implying that he wasn’t a fan of the Jon Snow actor. As a result, Harington might have received a rude awakening because of Lucas’ words.

Furthermore, Lucas’ comment also suggested that he did not care about what happened to Harington’s character in the series, which is notorious for killing off its main characters. However, Lucas was in a jovial mood and was likely just joking with Harington. He also praised Harington as he did not give him any acting notes, hinting his performance was on point.

In the same BTS clip,Game of Thronesco-showrunnerDavid Benioffspoke about Lucas visiting the show’s sets. However, he admitted that he was initially unsure about the set visit as he thought the crew was being pranked.
When we found out that George Lucas wanted to visit, we thought it was a practical joke and then we were really excited and also nervous.
Benioff made the above statement, explaining how Lucas’ legendary status in the industry made him and the crew skeptical of his set visit, leading to them feeling slightly intimidated.

Furthermore, Benioff admitted that he was a fan of Lucas’ work, citing the filmmaker as an inspiration. At one point, Benioff and his creative partner D. B. Weiss, wereattached to helm a projectset in Lucas’Star Warsuniverse. However, the duo later exited the project due to scheduling conflicts and cast doubts on returning to it.
