Dakota Johnson’sMadame Webhas been released today worldwide amidst very low hype and anticipation from audiences. The film also weirdly had only one trailer released by Sony which was not a good sign. Additionally, the fact that the review embargo was released a day before its release made things even worse.

The cast of the film including Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, and Isabella Merced have been extensively promoting the film. However, Johnson has claimed in one of the interviews that the script of the film went through big changes from the time she signed on, to what is being released in theatres.

However, the actress revealed one detail about her production that has been a problematic aspect of a studio film like this. Johnson toldThe Wrapthat the film’s script went through a drastic change throughout filming. The actress claimed that she did not know what these changes were and just trusted her director’s vision. She said,
“There were drastic changes. And I can’t even tell you what they were”

It is not a good sign when the actress does not even know what changes were made to the film in which she is the lead. This explains the criticism from most fans who called the film inconsistent and clunky. The reviews of the film have been horrible and it remains to be seen how it performs at the box office.
