In an interview withMen’s Health, the actor who famously starred as Barry Allen/The Flashin the hit CW show expressed his admiration for Jackman’s career. Gustin fell in love with the Wolverine actor when he didThe Boy From Ozon Broadway and was in awe of his incredible versatility. Like Jackman, he wants to do every type of film, TV, and Broadway projects that provide an exciting new challenge for him. Gustin said,
I saw The Boy From Oz at the Imperial, and Hugh Jackman was already Wolverine at that point; he was playing this completely polar opposite character, and he was incredible. And that’s still one of my models to this day. I want to get to do it all. I want to get to do musicals on Broadway and plays on Broadway, and big studio films, and indies, and TV. I hope I’m lucky enough to have a fraction of the career that Hugh has had, and I want to hopefully do it all until the day I die.

The film titledThe Death of Robin Hoodwill be directed by Michael Sarnoski who directedPigand the recent releaseA Quiet Place: Day One.In an interview withScreenrant, Sarnoski revealed that Jackman’s interpretation of the character will go deeper into the lore compared to other adaptations and will have a unique treatment. He said,
Hugh Jackman, we all know, is an incredible actor. We’re gonna get to see him do some pretty different, amazing stuff. He has quite a range with this character that he’s going to be exploring. I think people think of Robin is sort of like, he’s gonna steal from the rich, give to the poor. We have an idea for what that character is. But I think what he’s going to do with this character is going to go beyond what people are expecting, and I’m really excited to see to see him dive into it.

The director also stated that the film will begin shooting early next year.The Death of Robin Hoodwill also star Jodie Comer as the female lead of the film. According to the film’s logline, this version of Robin Hood will be“grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder”(viaVariety).Fans will be thrilled to see Jackman portray another iconic character after his recent success withDeadpool & Wolverine.
