To make learning him easier, here is a detailed guide on Spider-Man, including a breakdown of his abilities, offensive and defensive strategies, and other secret tips and tricks.

Spider-Man Abilities Overview

Spider-Man is all about mobility, using his webs to engage and disengage in battle. He is what you call a dive duelist—swinging in, getting a kill, and swinging out. But, before we get into that, it’s important to understand how his kit works.

Here is a breakdown of his kit and its various abilities:

Spider Power

Primary Attack. Damage your enemies with punches and kicks.

Web Cluster

Alternate Attack. Shoot out webs that damage and slow enemies. Enemies hit with the Web Cluster will have a Spider-Tracer on them.

It allows you to swing, zip, and move fast using your webs.

Spider-Man Offensive Strategies

The key to attacking Spider-Man is to chain his abilities into combos, which are essentially combining them in sequence to deal a lot of damage all at once. That’s where the dive duelist role comes into play—go in, hit them with all your abilities, and get out.

But you do need to pick your battles. You can’t just force yourself into the main fight and hope to survive. You have to really think about your target and isolate them from the team.

To put it simply, you should not be fighting in the front lines with your tanks. You need to use your extra mobility to flank behind the enemy team andtry to get their healer. The healer is the backbone of every team, so getting them should be your top priority. The only time you engage the frontlines is when you have the Ultimate. He has avery strong ultimatethat can get you easy kills.

Lastly, you shouldtry to secure kills for your team. Go for enemies that are low on health and finish them off. You can dish out a ton of damage, so if you hit your combo right, not even the healer can save that teammate.

How to do Combos?

But how do you go about learning these combos? Well, combos are all about chaining your abilities to deal as much damage as you may in the shortest amount of time. Here are some tips to make your combos.

What I like to do is hit the F ability to throw the enemy up and then shoot some Web Clusters to finish him off. It’s a really easy combo and usually secures me a kill.

Always save a Web Swing Charge when you head into a duel, just so you can escape if things turn sour.

Spider-Man Defensive Strategies

While Spider-Man is fast, he is also quite frail. You only have 250 HP, which, when compared to other characters, is quite low. One good shot from any character will take you out in one shot.

Spider-Man’s mobility is his saving grace. That’s why a good Spider-Man player is so hard to kill. Imagine trying to shoot a character that’s swinging across your screen at high speed. Unless you have godly aim, it’s really hard.

To put it into easy words, Spider-Man’s greatest defense is his mobility; that’s it. There are no fancy tricks or strategies of any sort.

Just keep moving, and don’t get hit. The better you are at using your Web-Swing and Wall Running, the harder of a target you will be, and the less you will die.

Spider-Man Team-Up Abilities

Spider-Man has only twoteam-up abilities, one of which he can’t even use. These areSuit ExplosionandExtra Web Fluid.

Heroes Required

Suit Explosion

Shoot out the Venom Symbiote in the form of spikes, dealing damage to enemies nearby.

Extra Web Fluid

Squirrel Girl

Spider-Man gives Squirrel Girl a web bomb that slows enemies.

Suit Explosion is very useful as it gives Spider-Man an AOE attack, which he desperately lacks. You can use this to finish off weakened enemies, or better yet, include it in your combos.

Something seems rather familiar about these heroes and villains.

Spider-Man Counters

Spider-Man’s greatest foes are tanks, and you should not fight them under any circumstances. You have very low health, and your combos won’t finish them off.

To put it into simple words, if a tank is targeting you, just run. You can’t take them on solo. But equally, they aren’t agile enough to give you a lot of trouble, so if you stay out of their way, they’ll do the same.

Apart from tanks, characters with auto-aim abilities are also a bad match for Spider-Man. These include characters likeNamor,Star Lord, andScarlet Witch. you may’t really fool them with your mobility, as their abilities will automatically lock on to you.

Scarlet Witchcan just suck you dry with her primary fire,Namor’sturrets can keep chipping away at your health, andStar Lord’s“E” ability can easily drain your health bar.

The strategy for taking on characters like these is to weaken them from range with your Web Clusters; when they are half health or less, you dive in for the finish. But, in most cases, attempt to avoid engaging in a duel with them.

Sniper characters likeBlack WidowandHawkeyecan be troubling too, especially if they can hit their shots. A nasty headshot will send you right back to spawn. The strategy with them is to attempt to close the distance. It’s hard for any sniper to hit their shots when you’re up close, smashing their face in.

Spider-Man Best Settings

With any other hero, you’re able to just leave theirsettingsat default and play without ever needing to configure them. But Spider-Man is a very technical and mechanical hero, so you need to change some settings.

There are four key settings that you should change if you are planning to main Spider-Man. These are Hold to Swing, Automatic Swing, Hold to Wall Crawl, and Hold to Run on Walls.
