The Clear Clash of Lone Blades 1 sub event inside the Hues of the Violet Garden event ofGenshin Impacthas started this April 11, with a first battle against Ookubo Sanzaemon, here’s how you parry and defeat him on Serious and Dire duel difficulties to get your free Primogems.

Parry Ability Added in Genshin Impact

The Clear Clash of Lone Blades is a new event where you may only play as your Traveler and cannot use their E and Q, only having access to Normal and Charged Attacks. Moreover, a new Counter/Parry ability can be used instead of your E. If you time it correctly, you will deal a powerful blow to the enemy and get a DMG bonus for your next attack. It’s a pretty interesting event that makes you wishGenshin Impacthad a deeper battle system with more than three buttons, aerial combos, a counter, and other gameplay elements found inHonkai Impact 3rd.

Clear Clash of Lone Blades1 - Versus Ookubo Sanzaemon and how to Parry the Honed Technique

There’s a very easy timing to parry the Honed Technique correctly. Right before the enemy triggers it, their katana will flash blue. you should basically press the E /parry button right after you see their weapon turning blue. This isn’tElden Ring,so the enemies don’t delay their attacks to bait you into parrying too early.

Ookubo Sanzaemon is only the first duel though so who knows what will happen with the others. Both the Dire and Perilous difficulties are pretty easy once you get the timing down.

Event rewards include 40 Primogems for each duel

You need to clear the Dire difficulty to get all the free Primogems. Clearing the duel on Perilous difficulty nets you additional rewards. I personally found the Perilous mode pretty easy so don’t be afraid to try it out.
