Forza Horizon 5is now available for those who have purchased the Premium Edition of the game, but it seems like the game is crashing for some PC players who attempt to launch it through Microsoft Store or Xbox App.
In less than a week,Forza Horizon 5will be available worldwide for everyone, but even now some players have access to the game through the early access for Premium Edition owners.
Despite receiving incredible reviews from multiple outlets, Forza Horizon 5 seems to have some technical issues on PC and that prevents players from having a smooth experience.
Since the early access has started, multiplePC players have reportedthat the game is crashing upon start, avoiding them from starting their adventure in Mexico.
While there is no official reaction to the problem from the developers yet, we have some suggestions here to avoid the game from crashing on Windows 10.
How to Avoid Forza Horizon 5 from Crashing on PC
Most of the players who have reported the crashing issues are attempting to play it through Microsoft Store or Xbox App on PC, which probably indicates that this is a problem with Windows 10 rather than the game itself.
Now, let’s see what you can do to effectively lower the chance of game crashes.
Repair the App
Go to Settings, then Apps. Now, find Forza Horizon 5 and click on it to head to its Advanced Options page. There, you will find a Repair option (it might only be available in Windows 11). This will attempt to repair the app without hurting its data files.
Make Sure Your System’s Date and Time is Up to Date
Sometimes if your system’s date and time are not up to date, the store might not allow you to launch a game correctly. Make sure to synchronize your date and time, before running the game.
Turn off Windows Security
If you still cannot get into the game, try turning off your Windows Security. To do this, go to the Privacy tab in Settings. Now click on Manage Settings below the Virus & Threat Protection line. Now, turn off all the sections, and ignore the warning messages.
Update Your Graphics Driver
Make sure your GPU driver is up to date. Although Windows 10/11 usually warn you of outdated drivers when running the game, you’d better double-check if there is a new update for your GPU.
Install the Latest DirectX and All Versions of Microsoft Visual C++
These two programs are almost vital for any game that you run on Windows 10/11. Make sure you have them installed and updated.
This is all we can suggest. If you still can’t run the game, we suggest you contact the support team at Microsoft.
Forza Horizon 5is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
