Thepreviously announcedPlayStation exclusive quest forHogwarts Legacyhas finally been revealed during Sony’s latest State of Play live stream today.
Announced by way of a very spooky trailer, the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest line got its first showing and some light details on what the exclusive content will include. Fair warning before you go diving into the trailer: if you suffer fromAutomatonophobia(the fear of human-like objects) you’ll want to proceed with caution as the clip features some very creepy autonomous mannequin dolls that wouldn’t look out of place in a Dr. Who episode.

The quest will see players presented with the opportunity to buy the run-down Hogsmeade Shop in the village where Hogwarts students (third years and above, of course…) are allowed to visit. Though, not all is as it seems. The shop is, as you may have guessed, well and truly haunted, and the store’s seller, Madam Mason, just can’t wait to be rid of it. What’s haunting the Hogsmeade Shop? What is its history? That’s something we’ll have to wait and see, but know that if you do choose (it’s completely optional) to take on the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest and complete its challenges, you’ll come out the other side with some prime real estate to your name. There’s a use for the shop, too, as you’ll be able to sell your own items and gear for higher prices, and as an added bonus, you’ll get the Shopkeeper’s Cosmetic Set so you can really dress the part.
The Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest is an exclusive chunk of content that will only be available to players on PS5 and PS4. You don’t need to pre-order any version of the game to get access, either; it’s built into the PlayStation editions of Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy will release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on February 11th, 2023. The Nintendo Switch release date has not yet been confirmed, though it’s expected it will launch a little later than the other editions. The game was originally supposed to release on all platforms later this year, though Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Softwareannounced that the game would be delayedinto February 2023 to give the developer more time to craft the best experience possible.
