Hogwarts Legacytook the gaming world by storm last year, immersing players in the magical world of witchcraft and wizardry like never before. But as fans eagerly await news of the rumored sequel, there’s one addition that could take the franchise to even greater heights: a certain beloved professor with a penchant for sherbet lemons and a twinkle in his eye.

That’s right, we’re talking about none other than Albus Dumbledore, the wise and enigmatic headmaster who has captivated readers and moviegoers alike for decades. And whileHogwarts Legacymay have played it safe by setting its story decades before the events of theHarry Potterseries, a time-skip in the sequel could be just the magic trick needed to bring this fan-favorite character into the fold.
A Blank Slate Begging for a Familiar Face
One of the strengths ofHogwarts Legacywas its ability to create a unique story that captured the spirit of the Wizarding World without relying too heavily on established characters and events. By setting the game in the late 1800s, Avalanche Software gave themselves a blank slate to work with, free from the constraints of existing canon.
And while the game did include plenty of easter eggs and nods to familiar families like the Weasleys and the Blacks, it largely steered clear of featuring any major characters that fans would instantly recognize. After all, most of the beloved witches and wizards we know and love from the books and movies simply weren’t born yet, or were too young to be roaming the halls of Hogwarts.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Has a Deceptively Simple Solution to Avoid Becoming the Next FIFA That Potterheads Desperately Want
But there’s one notable exception to this rule:Albus Dumbledore. Born in 1881, everyone’s favorite future headmaster would have been just a few years shy of starting his own magical education during the events ofHogwarts Legacy. This means that a sequel set just a few years later could easily introduce a young Dumbledore as a classmate and potential friend to the player character.
The Dumbledore Effect: A Guaranteed Sales Booster
Let’s face it, the mere mention of Albus Dumbledore is enough to make any Potterhead’s heart skip a beat. From his iconic half-moon spectacles to his words of wisdom that have become a part of the cultural lexicon, this is a character that holds a special place in the hearts of millions.
So it’s not hard to imagine the excitement that would come with the prospect of actually attending Hogwarts alongside a young Dumbledore, witnessing the early days of a wizard who would go on to become one of the most powerful and influential figures in the Wizarding World.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Needs to Fulfil One Wish of Most Fans That the Original Game Missed by a Wide Margin
ForAvalanche Software, the decision to include Dumbledore inHogwarts Legacy 2seems like a no-brainer. Not only wouldit provide a thrilling hook for fans of the series, but it would also virtually guarantee record-breaking sales. After all, who wouldn’t want to experience the origin story of one of the most beloved characters in modern literature?
Of course, introducing a young Dumbledore would require a bit of narrative finesse. The sequel would need to find a way to naturally integrate this fan-favorite character without overshadowing the player’s own journey. But given the talent and creativity of the developers behind theHogwarts Legacyteam, we have no doubt they would be up to the task.

Would you be excited to see a young Albus Dumbledore inHogwarts Legacy 2? What other characters or time periods would you like to see explored in future games? Let us know in the comments!
