Some fans were concerned that Silksong would only be available for the Nintendo Switch 2. Matthew Griffin, who handles marketing and publishing for developer Team Cherry,clarifiedthat Silksong is indeed coming to the original Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

It’s been a long time coming for Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game began as DLC for the original Hollow Knight before Team Cherry realized it was becoming too big. A proper sequel made more sense.
Since 2019, though, updates on the game’s development have been scarce. Team Cherry’s social media have been mostly silent as the small developer focuses on making Silksong the best it can be.
Silksong updates have become a bit of a meme in the industry, with Geoff Keighley infamously saying there won’t be any Silksong announcements before Gamescom Opening Night Live in August 2024.

Griffin provided anupdate earlier this year, saying that things were progressing well to release, whenever that may be. Silksong’s inclusion in the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is as concrete as we’ve ever had concerning a release date, so it looks like Team Cherry is feeling good about a 2025 release.
You won’t need a Nintendo console to play Hollow Knight: Silksong. The game will be released on PC, Linux, macOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be a day one title for Xbox Game Pass.
