Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions haven’t officially revealed any new title afterDeath Stranding, but we might hear tidbits about some of their in-development projects and ideas during an upcoming TV show on Japanese channel NHK.
Hideo Kojima announced on October 8 through his Japanese Twitter account he’ll be appearing on NHK TV show Game Genome.
In his Tweet, Kojima explained Game Genome is a show where games are used as an educational medium. The name is a reference to how humanity completed the documentation of the human genome, so now we need to take a look at the game genome. This episode will focus onDeath Stranding.
The show features actress Tsubasa Honda (who’s currently making her own game) as MC, and popular music artist Gen Hoshino (If you don’t know him, it’s the guy who did theDancing on the Insidevideo that became a meme in April 2020) will be appearing as a guest alongside Hideo Kojima.
Kojima Productions and Hideo Kojima are working on several projects
Obviously, don’t expect any news or announcements during the (pre-recorded) show, but it’s very likely Kojima will share some tidbits on his ongoing projects. (And reiterate for the Nth time that gameswill be fusing with movies one day.)
In the past, Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa alreadyshared several project ideas.Hideo Kojima also said he’d like to do ahorror gamesoon. More recently, he also shared his impressions on12 Minutesand mentionedwanting to make another Adventure game.I’m personally hoping he does that with aTokimeki Memorial Drama Seriesspiritual successor. If Kojima does it, everyone will finally start taking dating sims and ADVenture games seriously. And see how major the genre actually is in history.
We’ll be sure to tell you about it if anything interesting happens there. you may always reach me on Twitter to chat about Japanese games too@A_iyane07.
