My dress-up darling was one of the biggest hits this Winter 2022 season, thanks to its incredible mix of comedy, romance, heartwarming moments, cosplay and otaku culture, and fanservice. Kitagawa Marin is by far one of the most popular anime heroines of 2022 and her interactions with Gojou Wakana really carry the show as they’re both refreshing and original protagonists.

The final episode ofMy Dress-up Darlingseason 1 covers chapters 37 to 39 of the manga. If you’d like to see what happens next, you should start reading starting chapter 40.
Personally speaking, I’d recommend reading the manga from the beginning, just to see how certain scenes were handled slightly differently in the anime. It’s always cool as a fan to be able to see how the anime improved over certain already excellent scenes, or where you thought it could have done better. Either way, the animators at studio CloverWorks did an amazing job for this first season, hoping there will be more soon.

My Dress-up Darlingis originally known asSono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru. It’s a manga written and illustrated drawn by Shinichi Fukuda. If you read the manga and check her author’s words at the end of the volumes, you’ll learn that she actually didn’t know much about cosplayer events in the first place, and had to do a lot of research.
