The actor was not even the first choice for the role but he made the role iconic and eventually became one of the greatest superhero castings ever.Deadpool & Wolverinewill be the 10th time that Jackman will be playing the character.

Such an iconic legacy will be a hard thing to replicate as Marvel is developing an X-Men film. For the new actor who will eventually play Wolverine in the future, Kevin Feige has some words of wisdom and caution.

It is all a testament to Jackman’s irreplaceable performance as the character and its singular quality.

Jackman’s return inDeadpool & Wolverinehas been receiving overwhelming love from critics and audiences. With Marvel having concrete plans for a new X-Men film in the future, Wolverine will be eventually played by a new actor. In an interview withDiscussing Film, Feige revealed how the new Wolverine would have to be drastically different from Jackman’s version.

The Marvel head stated that the next Wolverine should have a very different style and a new interpretation. He also warned that merely replicating and mimicking what Jackman did with the character would be a big mistake. Feige said,
I think these characters will be around for another 100 years, long after all of us. So, for sure, there will be [eventually another actor as Wolverine]. I think it will be in a very different style and in a different way. I also think if somebody were to attempt to do a Hugh Jackman as Wolverine impression, that would be a pretty big mistake.

Henry Cavilland Daniel Radcliffe have beenrumoredto be playing Wolverine variants in the new film. It will indeed be a herculean task to live up to what Jackman has achieved with the character. He may arguably be the most beloved actor-superhero combo and his longevity proves it. Feige’s comments are accurate and the next potential actor to play the iconic character must certainly take the advice.

After 24 years of playing Wolverine,Hugh Jackmanis finally donning the comic-accurate yellow and blue costume inDeadpool & Wolverine. In an appearance onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor revealed that Reynolds let him know early on that they were going to do the ‘yellow and blue’ for the character.

I was like, ‘Alright, I’m in’. In my head, I was like, ‘I don’t know if it’s going to work. I just don’t know. As soon as I put it on — he had his Deadpool suit on, [and] I had mine. We walked onto set [to] 100 crew members who’ve done 100 movies [and] seen everything — you could hear a pin drop. It was just a hush.
