It is safe to say thatHelldivers 2has been one of the biggest surprise breakout titles of 2024 that obtained a new peak concurrent player record ofover400000 players wanting to get in on the action within the first week. And where is Palworld in all of this? I honestly don’t know - it seems to be hiding somewhere, althoughfans are being promised"very cool things" that are on the horizon regarding updates. Thankfully, in the meantime, there is plenty in Arrowhead Game Studios' latest intergalactic sequel to keep us all entertained.
Between the constantweapon updatesand an apparent call for ‘Game Master Joel’ to be integrated into the title’s lore, one Helldiver fan has been busy taping an Elgato Steam Deck to their arm to play the game in real life, because that’s just what cool people do in their spare time, okay?

Is Everyone Else Playing Helldivers 2 Wrong?
In a short clip posted byPaldiverson X, a genius Helldiver 2 player decided to turn the entire game on its head by getting rid of that useless thing most of us call a controller and swapping it out with their very own custom-made (they used tape) Elgato Steam Deck wired up to their arm. And they say playing video games kills your brain cells.
I’m not too sure how they actually managed to do this because I’m obviously not cool, but however they have concocted the device for their PC, it seems to work brilliantly by mapping stratagems to an Elgato Deck. As you can see from the video, the player has managed to precisely map the arrow keys on the deck buttons to simulate the call-down action in real life. Fair play to them is what we say.
Although unique to Helldivers 2, the concept of turning something else into a controller certainly isn’t a new idea as we’ve seen abanana being usedas a controller to take on Elden Ring and DOOM beingplayed on a pregnancy test.
