“I remember back in the early days I hung out with Brandon Lee,”he shared, noting that he drove a hearse and lived in Echo Park at the time. He further recalled a memorable night he spent with Lee when the late actor told him he thought he would die young, like his father.

We went out one night and everyone else had peeled off, and we ended up back at his place and it was like six in the morning. A real, you know, drunk and stony night, and he proceeded that night to tell me how he thought he was going to die young like his dad.

Rupert Sanders, who directed the recently released reboot of Brandon Lee’sThe Crow,took some strict safety measures while filming the movie, particularly in light of the tragic incident on the original film’s set and the 2021 accidental shooting on the set ofRust.
“Safety is a number one priority,”Sander said, as perVarietynoting the inherent dangers such as moving vehicles, stunts, and various equipment on the film set. He shared that he decided not to take any risks and prohibited having any firing weapons on set.
The first day I met with the special effects department and the armorer, who was great, in Prague — They follow all the same guidelines as the military… but I didn’t even want to risk that — So I said, categorically, “We will have no firing weapons on set.“
Instead of using real guns, they opted for Airsoft guns and non-firing rubber or metal decoys to prevent any risk of live rounds or blanks causing harm.The Crowreboot stars theItstar Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs.
However, unlike the original film which received positive reviews, Sanders’ reboot has received mostly negative reviews, earning a 21% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics are pointing out its lack of emotional depth and impact, noting that the reboot fails to live up to its source material.
