Through the wide variety of stellar roles in movies and TV series alike, Matthew McConaughey has become one of the biggest stars of Hollywood. The 54-year-old has been around since the early 1990s, and became an Oscar-winner back in 2014 for his role in the epic that wasDallas Buyers Club.

While on paper, McConaughey, who married Camila Alves back in 2006 is one of the most desirable men in the entire industry, one particular habit of his has often led to ridicule and curiosity. That is, his insistence on never wearing deodorant, something which his former co-star Kate Hudson talked about, during her recent appearance onWatch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
However, another former co-star of McConaughey went even further, and smelled the actor herself!

Kate Hudsonwas hilariously asked by one of the viewers about her time on theFool’s Goldset. The fan in question talked about the ‘urban legend,’ which suggests that Hudson had asked her co-star to wear deodorant, as Andy Cohen read out the fan-submitted question. However, unlike the rumor, Hudson on the contrary did not seemingly care about McConaughey not wearing a smell.

On the other hand, she also claimed that she herself follows the same rule, and does not wear deodorants:
No. He doesn’t wear deodorant — and by the way, I don’t either.

She did, however, admit that she could smell the actor “from a mile [away],” adding they “got so close” while filming.
Of course, the rumor, that Hudson had once wanted McConaughey to wear deodorant itself started off due to the actor himself stating the same. (Daily Mail)

Brown risked it all, and revealed in an interview that she made it a point to smell him, and find out for himself if the no-deodorant habit was an actual issue:
I remember that Matthew McConaughey said that he did not use deodorant and that he didn’t have an odor. So my first thought is, ‘I’m going to get as close as I can to him to see if he’s right
However, as one would expect, instead of being greeted with a bad odor, she instead loved what she sniffed:
He did not have an odor. He smells like granola and good living. He has a sweet, sweet scent that is just him and it’s not musty or crazy.
McConaughey, who has also stated that he makes it a point to take multiple showers a day, therefore does not seemingly need to move past his natural habits, and is seemingly as good to the nose as he is to the eyes.
