Kit Harington and Hannah Murray Pranked John Bradley with a Ridiculous Costume onGame of Thrones

WhenKit Haringtonand Hannah Murray cooked up a prank on theGame of Thronesset, they went all in, turning a regular day into a full-blown comedy show. Their target?John Bradley, who they convinced would be donning a ridiculous costume featuring a fake p*nis.

Season 5 saw Bradley’s character, Samwell Tarly, heading from the Wall to the Citadel, and Harington and Murray decided to spice things up with a prank. They got the costume department to whip up an outfit that was just about feasible but hilariously over-the-top. The result? A getup so absurd it had Bradley seriously pissed off. Harington recalls (viaEsquire):

The amount of effort and time that’s gone into that, just for a joke, is brilliant. But if you look at John’s face, he’s so upset and angry and he’s totally bought it.

The prank was so spot-on that Bradley stayed mum, bracing for the worst until the big reveal. Harington admits he was worried he’d actually crossed the line. But it wasn’t just Bradley who fell victim to pranks. Harington himself got a taste of the show’s prank war from creatorsDavid BenioffandDan Weissin Season 1. They handed him fake script pages suggesting Jon Snow would be a burn victim for most of the series. Harington freaked out and called his mum, only to see Weiss cracking up in the background.

Kit Harington’s Role inThe Beast WithinPuts a Unique Spin on the Werewolf Genre

Kit Harington finds himself in an unusual spot for his latest role inThe Beast Within. From director Alexander J. Farrell, the horror film revolves around 10-year-old Willow, played by Caoilinn Springall, uncovering a chilling family secret in an isolated English forest. As the full moon triggers a supernatural transformation, Willow’s world—and her father Noah, portrayed by Harington—becomes anything but ordinary.

In a chat withCollider, Harington revealed that the script’s direct metaphor intrigued him. Appreciating the film’s fresh take on the werewolf genre, he recalls:

Bella Ramsey loves John Bradley’s Samwell Tarly in Game of Thrones | HBO

I read the script, and it was very clear to me, the metaphor within it. This movie doesn’t hide it.

Harington particularly enjoyed a scene where his character engages in a menacing yet bonding interaction with Willow. And about that metal collar and nudity? Harington admits he asked, “Do I have to be the werewolf?’” When told no, he was relieved. Even so, the role and the film’s metaphorical depth were both challenging and captivating.
