Avid fans of the famedHarry Potterfranchise were left devastated after a special event they were expecting to happen at King’s Cross station did not take place. People stood in line while waiting for the annual Hogwarts Express announcement made famous by the films.
Apparently, Warner Bros Discovery already announced that this year’s event has been canceled and discouraged fans from turning up at the location because they were holding an online event instead. Still, people took their chance.

Every first of September, fans of theHarry Potterfranchise gather at the iconic King’s Cross departure board to listen to the announcement of the Hogwarts Express leaving Platform 9 3/4. In the movie, the young wizards meet at this place to board the train heading to the famed school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Warner Bros Discovery unfortunately canceled the event and announced that it isn’t happening this year. The note reads viaWizarding World:
Come 1st September, fans are strongly discouraged from attending King’s Cross Station this year, as there will be no event, departure board or countdown held at the station.
On its stead, they invited resident Hufflepuff Sam Thompson for a recorded online event which was streamed on the official YouTube channel ofHarry Potter.

Despite the early notice, fans still showed up at King’s Cross in hopes of witnessing the event. As the clock ticked down to 11 am and no traditional Hogwarts announcement was heard, the attendees couldn’t help but heave a deep sigh of disappointment.

Because of the popularity of theHarry Pottermovies, the King’s Cross station has become a staple filming location and an iconic tourist destination. While there is really no Platform 9 3/4, the actual wall used by the students to reach Hogwarts was between Platforms 4 and 5.
