How To Get Clay
Clay is one of the early game materials that you will feel the need for after completing the first few missions in the Grounded. You can find plenty of clay piles in thesoutheast of theOak Treearound the area with small pools of water. In fact, there is anirrigation sprinklerin the middle of this area, as marked on the map above. If you search around the sprinkler, there are numerous clay piles.
The image above is captured using the Resrouce Surveyor device, which can be found inside any Field Station orLab. All the red squares on the map above showcase clay piles, and since they can only be found in certain areas, we suggest you loot a lot of them and then store them in your chest, so that you won’t have to traverse all the way towards Rash for some clay every time you need it.
Keep in mind that before collecting clay you need tocraft a shovel. The Level 1 shovel can be crafted using Acron Shells, Crude Ropes, and Sprigs, and that’s quite efficient for collecting lots of clay. In order to unlock the recipe, you shouldanalyze an Acorn Shellin a Field Station.
Last but not least, be aware that the area marked for clay features someStinkbugsas well asMosquitoes, both of which are not kind toward intruders. So, we suggest you travel there during the day, and avoid those hostile bugs as much as you may.
