The Flashtelevision series was easily a massive fan favorite throughout the time it aired. Even after concluding its run and the Arrowverse as a whole with its ninth and final season, Grant Gustin continues to please fans as the best iteration of Barry Allen to date. But while the majority of the saga was praiseworthy, some parts weren’t, and the cast still regrets it.

While the adaptation was truly remarkable, there have been some storylines that would have better suited the lore had CW not decided to butcher them short. This, in particular, includes the“Flashpoint”event from the comics – something that was, rather perfectly, brought into live-action, but couldn’t stay long enough due to creative decisions as opposed to the cast’s wishes.
Grant Gustin Regrets the Flashpoint Event Being Cut Short
Grant Gustinembodied Barry Allen for a stunning nine seasons ofThe Flashspread across the course of eight years, and throughout that time, he has immaculately molded himself as per his character’s requirements. The same happened when one of the most fan-beloved events from the comics was being adapted into live-action as well: Flashpoint.
To jog your memory a bit, this event was revamped into the series in episodes of season 3. In these,Gustin’s Barry Allenresets the timeline by running the Reverse-Flash back in time to turn everything back to how it was before, but some differences still prevail. Eventually realizing that his close ones were paying for his mistakes, Allen restores the timeline.

‘Where could we watch a Flash TV series?’: Fans Brutally Troll WB For Canceling Ezra Miller’s HBO Max Flash TV Show, Ask Did They Forget About Grant Gustin?
Effortlessly enough, this was one of the best episodes of the series, rated 75% by critics onRotten Tomatoes, as it saw Barry Allen contemplate between letting his desires take over and suffering the repercussions of staying as only Barry Allen in this differently created timeline, or turning everything back to the way it was and return to being Flash in his own universe.
But as much as nearly everyone loved it, the adaptation of this event was restricted to a mere few episodes. And, as it turns out, this was to the disdain of the lead cast as well. This confession came out during the recently held Edmonton Expo, which was attended by Gustin, Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow),Carlos Valdes(Cisco Ramon), andTom Cavanagh.

According to@AgentsFandom on X, both Panabaker and Gustin admitted that“they both wish the “Flashpoint” storyline in ‘THE FLASH’ series ran longer for at least a full season.”However, due to some creative decisions, CW ended up butchering this storyline by cutting it incredibly short. And, of course, fans are anything but happy with this revelation.
Fans React to Grant Gustin and Danielle Panabaker’s Regret
From the very beginning, fans were truly excited to know that one of the best storylines from the comics was being incorporated into their favorite television series that just never seemed to miss. So when the studios cut it short by restricting it to a mere few episodes, fans were truly anything but happy and satisfiedbecause a lot could have been explored with the arc.

While that disappointment was already there, this recent revelation from Gustin andDanielle Panabakerfurther seems to have added to fans’ disapproval. Taking to X, here’s how they’re sharing their respective perspectives on the matter:
I wish the entirety of Season 3 was “Flashpoint” where the world Barry created off the timeline he knew because of what eobard did was a Temporal Limbo and gives an explanation of why Barry’s memories were erasing and he was “losing his powers”.

Wasn’t it over within 3 episodes? They could’ve done at least half a season fully committed to that, if not a full season like they said. Missed opportunity for sure.
A full season would have been really interesting

So do I, but with the flash forgetting his memories whilst using his speed they really didn’t get to do it unless they wanted a vegetable flash 😭
It seemed like that’s where they were going with season 3 at the start of it
Flashpoint should of been it’s own limited series staring both Amell and Grant IMO arrow was dealing with magic and flash was dealing with time back then you easily could of done something that merited having both shows intertwined for a bit
I think we all do 😭😭
Even tho Season 3 is my favorite season, I do think if they did at least half a season, it would’ve been better. Like, it would’ve been cool seeing more of Flashpoint, more of Barry forgetting who he is, the possibilities are insane for what they could’ve done
Should’ve at minimum done it for half a season, let the big crossover event be the end of Flashpoint (instead of invasion which i still love) and then the 2nd half of the season would be the consequences of Flashpoint
Needless to say, having a complete season – or at least half of it – delving deeper into the storylines of the extremely explorableFlashpointarc would have made season 3even more interesting than what it already was. To say the least, judging from these reactions, fans might as well never forgive CW for robbing them of what could have been the best seasons of the entire series.
The Flash (TV series) can currently be streamed on Prime Video.
