Shattered Mirror is an Epic one-time-use item. Players can find it during the course of a run in a multitude of ways, but its description is incredibly vague. If you haven’t played the original For the King discerning the purpose of the Shattered Mirror is not easy.

How Does The Shattered Mirror Work
Upon use, the Shattered Mirror creates a single-use shield around the user that reflects all damage from the next attack that hits them. Only the character who uses the Shattered Mirror will receive this buff, and attacks aimed towards other party members will not trigger the Mirror. However, if the character who used the Shattered Mirror receives splash damage from an enemy, the effect will trigger.
After being used, the Shattered Mirror disappears from the inventoryand can’t be used again unless you find another one.
Best Place To Use The Shattered Mirror
Activating the Shattered Mirror isbest suited against enemies who have high attack, like Golems or final bosses, preferably when they’re alone, so there is no chance of triggering the Mirror’s effect against chip damage.
If the enemy doesn’t target the character who uses the Mirror, there will be no chance for the effect to trigger. There are two workarounds to this. For one, you canforce the enemy to attack only that character by having all othermembers of your partyflee the battle. Or, you can challenge the boss with only the character that has the Shattered Mirror, so they’re the only target to be attacked.
Alternatively, you can give this character ashield with the Taunt ability. If you have two Focus, use the Shattered Mirror, then use Focus to ensure Taunting doesn’t fail, and then use your action. The next attack will always land on you, triggering the Shattered Mirror for massive reflected damage.
Where To Find The Shattered Mirror
The Shattered Mirror can be obtained fromquest rewards, chests, overworld challenges, and certain shops. It consistently appears in theNight Market. Also, keep an eye out for town quest boards, as they often have the Shattered Mirror listed as the quest reward for an Epic tier quest.
