Square Enix is doing a great job in bridging the gap betweenFinal Fantasy 7 RemakePart 1 and Part 2, by filling our waiting time withIntergradeand theYuffieDLC.

Players of the original JRPG will know all aboutRemake’s welcomed extension of many events, and Part 1’s primary focus on Avalanche, Shinra and the corruption of Midgar justified the remake’s split into several parts.

With fans eager to hear what Part 2 will focus on, director Tetsuya Nomura has brought some confirmation to the fandom’s expectations.

During an officialFinal Fantasy 7 The First Soldierlivestream, translated by ‘aitaikimochi’ on Twitter, Nomura noticed how many people were asking about Part 2.Â

Nomura presumed that fans would have Part 2 in mind, and the director admitted that it was a “huge mess” in order to get clearance to talk about it.

Requiring approval from many Square Enix departments, Nomura revealed the little information that was allowed.

“The game’s development is going smoothly, '' Nomura began, adding “Cloud will be running around a lot of nature.”

Nomura also revealed that Part 2 will have a different atmosphere to Part 1, and the narrative will pick up straight after the events ofIntergrade.Â

Potential Locations Part 2 Could Explore

Fans of the original game will know of the mentioned change in tone and atmosphere after Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Barret and Red XIII leave Midgar.Â

The collection of areas explored in the PS1 title is vast, and Nomura’s quote about Cloud spending a fair amount of time in nature adds up.

Cloud’s hometown of Nibelheim, Junon and Cosmo Canyon could be some of the places explored in Part 2, and there’s also Part 3’s locations to consider.

to travel between these locations, Cloud and his party spend a fair amount of time navigating the wilderness of Gaia, but will more events take place on the outskirts withinRemakethan in the original?
