Final Fantasy 16requires you to run around quite a lot while playing. Whether you’re running after a main quest or one of the many side quests, chances are you will have to do a lot of running around.

Fortunately, if you want to make traveling around easier, you can obtain a mount. Obtaining a mount will allow you to ride it and get around a lot faster than just walking or running to places. Even withfast travel, this is just so much more useful. Here’s how to unlock your mount.
How To Unlock A Mount
If you want to get yourself a mount, first you will need to complete a quest. This quest cannot happen until a little bit past Drake’s Breath quest. This quest is called"The White-Winged Wonder"and can be obtained inMartha’s Rest.
The White-Winged Wonder Walkthrough
You can obtain this quest from Rowan, Traveling Trader.He is near the bridge in Martha’s Rest. He will ask you to save a Chocobo that is being hunted by poachers. He says that her name is Whiteheart and she is a local hero. You will need to go to the area that the quest marker points to.
There, you will see a white feather on the ground and Clive remarks that he thought Ambrosia was the only white Chocobo.Once you examine the feather, follow the tracks until you find the Chocobos being cornered by poachers.
Once you reach them, the poachers will attack you.Get rid of them and another wave of enemies will attack you. Once you have gotten rid of those,you will have saved the Chocobos.
After saving the Chocobos, Clive will approach Whiteheart. He notices the scar across the Chocobo’s face andthinks back to that night at Phoenix Gatewhen Ambrosia jumped in front of an enemy to save Clive, giving her that exact scar. Between that and the interaction between the Chocobo and Torgal, Clive realizes it is Ambrosia.The traveling trader will tell Clive that he should keep the Chocobo if she truly is his.

How To Use Your Mount
Once the mount is unlocked, all you need to do ishold R3.As long as you aren’t in a town, Ambrosia will come to you. Thenpressing X will have Clive mount, Ambrosia.You can then useR2 to have Ambrosia run. L2 will allow Ambrosia to slow down. Finally, R3 will allow you to dismount her.Now that you have a mount, you can get around much faster. This makes things like thehuntsfrom the hideout much easier to complete.
