Located within the Stillwind region of the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, Gigas is the mini-boss of theLost in a Fogmain mission. While not an exceptionally challenging foe, Gigas' presence as the first significant monster encounter may present some difficulties for inexperienced players, especially if they are playing in anaction-focuseddifficulty.
Before You Fight Gigas
Before you face your firstchallenging monster, you should make some preparations. The boss appears as part of theLost in a Fogmission, and you will encounter it in the swamps after defeating the goblin hoard. You will be able to spot it from far, as it has a huge build.
Before progressing with the mission, you should familiarize yourself with the Ability system and unlock thebest early-game ones. Though the fight will mostly consist of dodging and counterattacking, having some powerful moves can help you finish the battle faster and easier. The early gainedPhoenix abilitiescan help you, like dealing heavier damage. you may also try unlockingLunge, Burning Blade,andCharged Magic. These attacks should be enough to defeat Gigas, but they can also prove useful for following battles.

You will not be fighting alone against Gigas. The same pair of the duchy’s loyal Shields that helped you defeat the goblins will accompany you in this battle as well. They will help deal necessary damage to the fearsome boss.
In case you are playingStory-focused, which is the equivalent of theeasy mode, you can take advantage of yourTimelyaccessories.The Ring of Timely Evasionor theRing of Timely Focuscan be quite helpful in this boss fight. They can make Clive either automatically dodge or slow down time whenever an opportunity for dodging arises.

Gigas' Moveset
Gigas is an opponent that focuses mainly on melee attacks, using its big club to hit his enemies. When it is in full health, you should keep an eye out for the following moves:
After you get Gigas down to half health, his attacks will become faster and more aggressive.

If you may not stop his attack on time, then do your best to avoid the Big Swing. Getting hit once will leave you vulnerable to continuous damage until the ability concludes.

Defeating Gigas
Since Gigas is amelee-focusedboss, you have to observe its attack patterns and employprecise dodges. The moment itraises its club, wait for a moment before swiftly dodging to the side for aPrecision Dodge, allowing you tocounterattack.
When Gigaslowers its cluband readies itself, either create distance or doge by jumping behind it during the initial swing to seize an opportunity for free hits.
If Gigaschargesat you from a distance,sidestep to evadeand utilize ranged attacks likeFirafor damage. Fira spells can deal around 150 damage, which will help significantly reduce Gigas' health.
When Gigas' health reaches its half point, it will start with theBig Swing. Avoid getting hit, butremain close enough. The moment it stops spinning, you have a small window to attack, and potentially cause Gigas to becomestaggered. You can easily follow his health and staggered status by checking the bars in the top right corner of your screen. You should get as many combos as you can and deal lots ofStagger Damagewhile the boss is down.
If you evade and counterattack on time, you can easily defeat Gigas in less than 2 minutes.
