As Dusk Fallsdeveloper Interior Night has released a dev diary video ahead of the game’s launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 next week.
The video goes through the new features of the PlayStation version, and Interior Night’s attempts to make As Dusk Falls as accessible as possible.

The DualSense controller will be utilised for haptic feedback and touch controls, adding a new layer of responsiveness to the narrative game. As Dusk Falls will also have a companion mobile app so players who don’t want to use a controller can participate in multiplayer.
An Experience For Gamers And Non-Gamers Alike
According to studio director Charu Desodt, the companion app is part of a philosophy to include non-gamers in the experience, “The idea of multiplayer, very intuitive gameplay that really welcomes gamers playing with non-gamer friends is something that’s stuck with me throughout my career,” Desodt said.
Interview: As Dusk Falls Creator Talks Choice, The Game’s Launch, And What’s Next
Two months on from launch, DualShockers chats with Interior/Night founder Caroline Marchal about her gripping interactive thriller.
Desodt also described how Interior Night intentionally recruited employees with a film background to better craft its narrative experiences. This is in keeping with the studio’s target market, gamers and non-gamers alike who are interested in narratives.

Studio founder and creative director Caroline Marchal outlined why Interior Night is bringing the game to PlayStation, saying “PlayStation is a wonderful platform for narrative experiences, I’ve experienced in the past how welcoming the community is with narrative, cinematic experiences. We wanted the broadest possible audience to experience As Dusk Falls and there’s a huge audience on PlayStation who love interactive stories and couch co-op.”
As Dusk Falls was originally released on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on 30 June 2025. The game was made in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios, hence the timed exclusivity.

As Dusk Falls is a narrative game with an interesting watercolour visual style, a unique choice but one that really works with the tone of the game. The narrative follows two families involved in a car crash in the Arizona Desert, and how the event changes the trajectory of their lives. As Dusk Falls releases for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on 31 May 2025.
