Lilly admitted several times that the role had changed her life and even defended the hated finale of the series, sharing that there was no one interpretation of the finale. However, filming the series was not always a memorable experience for the actress.

During an all-revealing interview, Lilly opened up about her role and some of the tough times she faced on the set of the show. TheAnt-Manactress shared that she was forced into doing a couple of partially naked scenes in the series, even after battling for control in those scenes.

Speaking toThe Lost Boyspodcast in 2018, she shared her honest opinion on the character who started strong but was written into“chasing the boys”towards the end of the series. She shared that her character had no autonomy and was designed around her romantic interests, Jack and Sawyer.

However, it was not just the character that frustrated her. According to Lilly, she felt she had no choice while filming aSeason 3scene in the series. The scene required her to be partially n*ked and Lilly felt that she was cornered into doing the scene. She remembered crying her eyes out after filming the scene. She shared withThe Lost Boyspodcast:

In Season 3, I’d had a bad experience on set with being basically cornered into doing a scene partially n*ked, and I felt had no choice in the matter. I was mortified and I was trembling, and when it finished, I was crying my eyes out and I had to go on do a very formidable, very strong scene immediately thereafter.

It happened a second time inSeason 4, where she fought hard to keep the scene under her control. However, she shared that she“failed to control of it again,”and decided once and for all that she would never take her clothes off on the show. She shared her decision with the makers of the show, telling them that even if they wrote such scenes, she would never do them.

LostCreators Apologized To Evangeline Lilly After The Interview Went Viral

Damon LindelofandJ.J. Abrams, the co-creators ofLost, issued a public apology to Evangeline Lilly after her revelation on the podcast. Alongside the executive producers Jack Bender and Carlton Cuse, they shared that they would like to“profoundly apologize”for theReal Steelactress’s experience working on the series. They shared (via E! News):

Our response to Evie’s comments this morning in the media was to immediately reach out to her to profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on Lost. We have not yet connected with her, but remain deeply and sincerely sorry. No person should ever feel unsafe at work. Period.
