IEM Cologne 2022 has come and gone with the CIS powerhouse, FaZe Clan, adding another trophy to their collection after taking down NAVI 3-2 in a breathtaking five-game final series. Having made an excellent start to the Grand Slam Season and secured their spot in Blast Premier World Final,FaZe Clanwill attend ESL Pro League Season 16 to leave their mark on the CS: GO competitive history. However, some of the best teams in the world will be on their way to break the devil’s leg before heading to Rio, Brazil.

ESL Pro League Season 16 will take place between August 31st and October 2nd, hosting 24 teams in total to define their standings in the world rankings. With only a month and a half left until the start of the tournament, here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming international CS: GO tournament.

Teams will be divided into four groups, with each having six members. In a single-elimination format, teams will play each other once and all matches will be bo3. Top teams from each group will directly qualify for the quarterfinals, while second and third-placed teams will start their playoff run from Round 12. The bottom three teams will also be eliminated from ESL Pro League Season 16 at the end of the group stage.

The playoff format is quite simple as the winners of the first round will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will go up against group stage winners. All matches in the playoff stage will be bo3, while the grand finals, which will take place on August 2nd, will be bo5.

Prize Pool

ESL Pro League Season 16 will have a generous prize pool of $835,000 to spread among the participants. The winner of the tournament will put $175,000 in their pocket along with a golden ticket to the BLAST World Final 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023. All participant will take their share of the prize based on their fashion.

Twenty-four teams around the world will square off against each other to prove themselves as the best of the best. The Turkish super team Eternal Fire, Endpoint, FTW, HEET, Outsiders, and MIBR secured their spot at ESL Pro League Season 16, having got through the conference stage with a brilliant performance. Except for fifteen permanent partner teams, five more teams will clinch their spot in the tournament according to their rankings.
