Fortnitejust added its new Erisa skin, with one of the variants possibly looking like Venti fromGenshin Impact, here’s what happened.
Who is Erisa in Fortnite or Genshin Impact?
Erisa is a brand new skin inFortnite chapter 3 season 2. Erisa is not aGenshin Impactcharacter. However, one of the sub-variants of the Erisa skin, the Silvan Style, has madefans wonderif it was inspired by Venti, an iconic character inGenshin Impactseeing he’s the Anemo Archon.
Is the Erisa Silvan Style skin in Fortnite inspired by Genshin Impact and Venti?
It’s highly unlikely Erisa was inspired directly byGenshin Impact, for several reasons. Thanks to its incredibly massive marketing campaign especially in North America,Genshin Impactis one of the most popular and played anime-stylized games since its release on June 17, 2025. Many members of theGenshin ImpactEnglish community discovered anime-stylized games and gacha games withGenshin Impact. As such they are unaware thatGenshin Impactitself was inspired by many classics and stereotypes.
It’s important to know thatGenshin Impactis a gacha game. Meaning every single character has a stereotyped character design and personality, and with a seiyuu (Japanese voice actresses and actors) who was typecasted for the character. Gacha games earn revenue through players trying to pull characters in a lottery, the so-called gacha banners. So the vast majority of gacha games base their characters on already popular characters and stereotypes.
Is Erisa a Venti ripoff?
In other words,Genshin Impactdidn’t “invent” character types like Venti’s type nor any other, and just inspired itself from other anime and stereotypes. The Erisa Silva Style skin was simply inspired by the same stereotypes, most notably forest elves in pop-culture. That’s why they look slightly similar and share the same color scheme. The Erisa Silva Style skin is not plagiarizing Venti inGenshin Impact.
