Such has been the case for siblings, Eric Roberts and Julia Roberts, who have not had the easiest time existing in the same space.

Eric Roberts Addresses His Feud With His Sister
During a recent interview withVanity Fair,Eric Robertsfinally talked about his years-long feud with his sister,Julia Roberts. Although he has been a part of the film industry for far longer than she has, she ended up becoming America’s sweetheart through projects likePretty Woman, Notting Hill,andEat, Pray, Love.
In the interview, he confessed that he was the reason why the actress, and even his daughter, Emma Roberts, are as successful as they are today. While he understands that both, his daughter and his sister are seeing the great heights of success, he wanted to put emphasis on the fact that he was the one who opened these gates for them in the film industry.
If it wasn’t for me, there would be no Julia Roberts and no Emma Roberts as celebrities, as actresses, and I’m very proud of that. When Julia first came to New York, I went into William Morris and I said, ‘Which one of you is going to sign my sister Julia?’

Since he was the first to end the world of acting, he was able to establish an impressive foundation for himself before his sister stepped into the world. He mentioned that when Roberts wanted to follow in the footsteps of her brother, it was he who asked everyone at The William Morris Agency about who would be interested in signing her on.

Eric Roberts Makes A Public Apology To Julia Roberts
In his interview, Eric Roberts also ended up taking quite a lot of accountability for his actions and how they have hurt those close to him, especially his family. He started by mentioning that, growing up, he and his siblings were very close with each other. Being raised in somewhat of a dysfunctional environment, they were protective of each other and did not want anyone to come in harm’s way.

I was crazy about my sisters. Loved them, adored them. They were precious to me, and we had times of great closeness. We all felt very protective of each other, but the hardest person to protect yourself from is yourself.
I was exhausting to be around. Complainy, blamey, unable to enjoy enjoyment. Everyone in my world needed a break sometimes, and that must have included Julia.
However, in a quest to protect his sisters, he ended up neglecting himself and what he needed. The actor has famously had issues with drug abuse and even lost the custody of his daughter and was forced to watch as Julia Roberts sided with Kelly Cunningham and Emma Roberts instead of him. While the actions must have stung at the time, it would seem that now that he is looking back, he is glad that he got such a rude awakening about his behaviors.
I hope Julia will accept this public apology. It was an asinine thing to have said.
