Revenant is a multipurpose character who, depending on your team’s needs, can give you heals, deal tons of damage to the enemy, or simply summon some spirits to cause some distractions. But as she has so much to offer, it is only natural that she also has some weaknesses.

Elden Ring Nightreign Review
“Git gud” personified.
And so she does. Revenant can be considered a glass cannon character as she has the lowest health in the game, similar to Recluse. Additionally, there is one thing that she lacks that Recluse has, which is the ability to restore FP.
So, if you are planning to main this doll, there are some things that you should know about her. Here is the complete guide to help you play Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Revenant Abilities Explained
Description
Necromancy
Revenant can summon ghosts of the enemies you defeat. These follow you around and help you in fights and will disappear shortly after being spawned.
Summon Spirit
Character Skill
Revenant plays her lyre and can summon any one of her three family spirits. These spirits include Frederick the Pumpkin Head, Helen the Page, and Sebastian the Giant Skeleton.
Immortal March
Ultimate Art
Revenant shrieks and makes herself and nearby allies immortal for a limited time. While it is active, you and your team can take hits but won’t die.
Let us talk about Revenant’s passive, Necromancy, which makes her an extremely useful ally in the early game. Initially, when your characters are levels 1-4, you and your teammates are fairly weak and can die within a few hits.

However, with Necromancy, you get the numbers advantage by killing enemies and turning them into your summons, allowing you to explore encampments without having to worry about getting outnumbered by the enemy.
Remember, the summons you get from killing enemies won’t follow you around all the time, and will despawn when killed or after around a minute.

Next, we have Revenant’s character skill, Summon Spirit, which is arguably the skill you will rely on the most. This skill is handy when you want to split up for exploration, which usually isn’t a good idea. But with the help of her spirit summons, Revenant should be able to take care of herself by summoning her family and as long as she can manage to avoid becoming the enemy’s target.
Since you get three summon options, you can decide which to use depending on where you are fighting, the enemy that you are engaging, and their HP. Each spirit has its own HP, so if one dies, you cannot summon that spirit until it regenerates enough health.

Ideally, your choices will come down to this:Sebastian is better suited when you need a static tank. Frederick should be your pick if you need someone who can chase around your targets and stomp them with heavy attacks. As for Helen, since she is nimble, she can be summoned when you need to poke your targets.
Finally, for Revenant’s Ultimate Art, we have Immortal March. The first time you use it, you might wonder what you are doing wrong, because even though you can see her ultimate being active, you will notice that you are still taking damage.
This is becauseher ultimate is Immortal March and not Invincible March. So, you take damage whenever you are hit until you reach 1 HP.Now, this is where the fun begins, because now you don’t have to worry about losing any more health and can attack the enemy freely.
Just make sure you take a mental note of how long the ultimate is active. Since you only get a few seconds of immortality with it, you will have to make sure to watch out for the green glow on your character. Once it is gone, that means the next attack will hit you. If you haven’t healed, you will die.
Best Weapons
Choosing the right weapons can be quite tricky for Revenant, because her playstyle changes a lot based on the team composition. But regardless of which Nightfarers you are on an expedition with, there are some weapons that you must have equipped at all times.
Let us start withSacred Seals. Revenant has an S rating in Faith, so incantations are her main forte. By default, you get a Finger Seal with the incantations Heal and Rejection. You can keep this seal for Heal, but you should try getting something better.
Ideally, you should get Godslayer’s Seal that has Black Flame incantations like Black Flame (fireball), Black Flame Blade, and Scouring Black Flame. you’re able to also go for a seal that has Dragon Communion Incantations like Dragonfire, Magma Breath, Rotten Breath, or Placidusax’s Ruin.
Elden Ring: 20 Best Incantations, Ranked
Elden Ring is a massive game with many ways to build your character. Here are the best Incantations for you to use.
While Faith is Revenant’s strongest suit, she also has a B rating for her Intelligence. So,if you may find a Glintstone staff that has sorceries like Comet Azur, Rennala’s Full Moon, or some other strong Carian spells, that could also do the trick.
Even though sorceries and incantations are a must for ideal damage, they aren’t of any use once you run out of FP. So, the other two types of weapons that are must-haves as a backup for Revenant are Greatshields and Bows.
Greatshields are useful for tanking enemy attacks while you wait for your summon spirits to recharge. As for Bows, any regular or Light Bows should help you deal damage when you may no longer cast spells.
Best Relics
Similar to weapons, there isn’t a one-size-fits-allrelicthat you can equip for Revenant. When in doubt, you should always first pick relics that boost your Mind, Faith, and Intelligence. You can’t go wrong with them.
Next, there are your more situational relics, like the ones you can equip before fighting a certain Night Lord. For example, if you are about to fight Gladius, you should equip relics that increase your Holy damage. Or in the case of Maris, you want something that boosts your Sleep resistance.
Optionally, you could always go for relics that are character-specific, like some stones that offer buffs like increased power when fighting alongside family or triggering Ghostflame explosion when activating ultimate.
Finally, if you are feeling generous, you could equip relics that provide useful buffs to the team, but not yourself. For example, there is a relic that raises stamina recovery for nearby allies, but not for the character who has it equipped.
Only use such relics when you don’t have anything useful to equip or if the other buffs of the said relic are better. Revenant is already very weak, so the last thing you want to do is waste any potential advantages that you can get.
Revenant Expedition Strategies
Upon a quick glance at Revenant’s skills, you might think she is the best character for Solo expeditions. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Regardless of whether you plan on using her for a single player or a squad run, here are some tips that will help you out:
Best Team Comp
These are the characters that work best with Revenant:
No matter what squad you run, every team should ideally always have one tank. When playing with Revenant, Guardian can fill that role.
As Revenant is one of the two characters with the lowest HP in the game, she needs all the protection that she can get. This is where Guardian comes in; both of his abilities can help her out in some way.
Whirlwind is Guardian’s character skill that can pull weaker enemies towards him and launch them in the air. Meanwhile, it deflects most projectiles that come in contact with it. So, when you are clearing camps, you may use this ability to pull the enemies away from Revenant.
As for his Ultimate Art, using Wings of Salvation allows Guardian to leap and hover into the air before diving. This ability lets the user easily save an ally from near-death. Since Revenant has very low HP, you may die quite easily when you aren’t careful, so Guardian’s ultimate can be a saviour.
If you are looking for an alternative to Guardian, the next best character to tank would be Raider. However, if you are looking to spice things up and are willing to take the risk with Revenant’s summon spirits to tank and cause distractions, then Wylder could be a better pick.
Since Revenant is a support and a ranged character, her team needs someone who can take care of dealing damage. As you already have the numbers game with her summons, clearing Days 1 and 2 shouldn’t be a problem. But when facing the Nighlord, you need someone who can quickly do some serious damage.
Luckily, when it comes to fighting single targets, Executor is the best man for the job. Bleed builds have always been one of the strongest builds in Elden Ring. The tradition still follows in Nightreign.
The reason he is on this team is mainly for his high Dexterity and Arcane, as Executor has an S rating for both. So, ideally, you should look for Katanas for him—especially the ones that can inflict poison or build up bleed or frost faster.
His character skill, Cursed Sword, lets him deflect most enemy attacks. The best part is that this skill has no cooldowns, so Executor can help with your team’s defense if such a situation arises.
Additionally, his Ultimate Art Aspects of the Crucible: Beast allows him to turn into a massive monster. This move can be used both to tank hits and to help save a party member from near-death.
In the case you want someone other than Executor and are looking for a safer option,Ironeyecan be your pick, thanks to his reliable ranged attacks.
