Ever since the game’s release, players have been requesting FromSoftware to bring the two-player mode to Nightreign and have had to rely on third-party mods like the Seamless Co-op for it. Luckily, the developers said on launch that they would consider releasing the duos mode in a future patch, and it is finally here!

In the game’s latestpatch 1.02, you can now start two-player expeditions. The best part is that the game balances itself for duos, so you don’t have to worry about not earning enough runes or having enemies take less damage. The way you start raids hasn’t changed much, and here is how it works.
Interact with the table of lost grace and go to the Matchmaking Settings tab. Here, simply change the “Number of Players” to “Two Players”. The rest of the process of adding friends is the same; you can either invite them from your friends list or use Multiplayer Password.

To make things better, this wasn’t the only noteworthy highlight of the update. Among the other features, the game now also gives you more filtering options for your Relics. This is a big change and makes preparing for an expedition a whole lot easier.
From theRelic Ritesaltar, press 4 on your keyboard or the left thumbstick on your controller to start sorting out your relics. Here, you get to select 3 conditions in which you can further select sub-conditions.
For example, Starting Armaments (Imbue) lets you pick a relic that has some effect like the starting armament having Lightning, or Restoration conditions let you select relics that let you restore your health, stamina, or FP.
Aside from the above major quality of life changes, they have also fixed many bugs. Most notably are the ones including some Draconic Tree Sentinel attacks reaching further than intended,Caligomoving outside the battle area, Nameless King not returning to the battle area after going too far, and more.
All in all, this is a very good update. These features, paired with the new Everdark Augur, surely have a chance tobring the players back.
