Electronic Artsrecentlyrevealedthat it is going to shut down the online services for a number of games in the coming months, which includes mostly old titles from two generations ago, except forOnrush, which was released over 4 years earlier.

Looking at the list of games that will not be supported by online service (courtesy ofVGC), we can spotArmy of Two: The 40th Dayand Army of Two: The Devil’s Carter, going offline on August 08, 2025. A few weeks later on November 9, Electronic Arts will cut online access to Command & Conquerer: Red Alert 3 and Command Conquerer 3: Tiberium Wars (+ Kane’s Wrath DLC) as well as Mercenaries 2. Keep in mind that EA only shuts down the console servers for these three titles.

Going forward, EA will also close online services for Onrush on November 30. Onrush was originally developed byCodemastersand published byDeep Silverback in 2018, but since Codemasters is now a subsidiary of Electronic Arts, the parent company has decided to shut down the servers as the number of players has dropped to a very low level. The offline mode of Onrush will still be available to players.

Finally, on July 25, 2025, EA will stop supporting the online features ofMirror’s Edge,Shank 2, and Gatling Gears. It’s worth noting thatMirror’s Edge Catalystwill not be affected by these changes, and the company only cuts online support for the original version.

As mentioned earlier, most titles are from two generations earlier, and cutting online services for them is a pretty normal move as companies try to optimize their workload and focus on more popular titles rather than using resources on games that are barely played.

Based on what Electronic Arts reveals, they decide to shut down online services for a game when its player count is typically fewer than 1% of all peak online players across all EA titles. This is probably sad for Onrush fans, as the game was a multiplayer-focused experience.

Hopefully, all titles above will still remain on the market and will be available in offline mode.
