The Dragon Ball franchise has been one of the most popular animes to have ever hit television screens since the first Dragon Ball series released in 1986. Since then, the franchise has delivered flashy and continuously used attacks that have become signature moves for different characters in the anime and manga.

With so many different characters and attacks, there are a large count of signature moves, but there is a lesser count of moves that are considerably the best moves in Dragon Ball. Signature attacks, like the Kamehameha, are important to fans and the franchise itself, as they sharply represent whichever characters use them, the show, and display a sense of incredible power that only Dragon Ball is capably of showcasing.

10Galick Gun

At first, this signature move came off as the Kamehameha Wave’s evil counterpart asVegeta first usedthis move against Goku during their battle on Earth. The Galick Gun versus Goku’s Kamehameha Wave is regarded as one of the most popular moments in Dragon Ball history, and it is a scene that many fans will look back upon fondly.

The Galick Gun attack is a beam that is similar to the Kamehameha Wave, but rather than being blue in color, Galick Gun is purple in color. Galick Gun is used by Vegeta, and only Vegeta, until Trunks eventually adopts the move to use himself in Super.

9Special Beam Cannon

This move is arguably one of the strongest moves in Dragon Ball, as the beam certainly acts as the Z Fighter’s version of an armor-piercing shot that could penetrate the most powerful of warriors. This has been true ever since its first use in Dragon Ball Z.

During Goku and Piccolo’s fight with Raditz, Goku’s evil Saiyan brother, Piccolo charged up a brand-new move he had developed. He focused all of his energy into one, single beam. This shot was so powerful that it took out the evil Raditz in one shot — along with Goku as he was holding Raditz down for Piccolo to hit his target.Gohan eventually used this move against Cell Maxjust like Piccolo did with Raditz.

8Death Ball

Performed by one of the most villainous characters introduced into the Dragon Bal universe, this signature move is easily one of the most deadly, as it has no intent of holding back any amount of power. This move was first used by the villain Frieza while fighting the legendary Super Saiyan Goku.

Frieza is also noted to using a much more powerful version of this move in order to destroy planet Vegeta and eradicate the Saiyan race. Death Ball is iconically purple, though the larger version of the move seemed to be similar to Cooler’s Supernova move, as it was orange.

7Spirit Bomb

Spirit Bomb is one of the most famous moves in Dragon Ball and is known as the finishing move of Goku in order to defeat villains that are too strong for any other move. Spirit Bomb is a gathering of energy from life. For instance, Goku first used this move against Vegeta during their first battle on Earth.

Goku gathered energy from his allies, and eventually it led to a devastating attack on Vegeta. A Super Spirit Bomb is the most powerful version of this move and notably takes energy from almost everyone on the planet that is willing to lend their energy. This even includes animals.

6Final Explosion

After Vegeta succumbed to the lavish life that he had on Earth, he turned to the side of good and fought alongside Goku to get stronger and protect the people he loves. During the Buu Saga, Vegeta was turned evil once more and threatened all of the Z Fighters.

After a while, Buu threatened the entire planet, and Vegeta finally came to his senses to fight Buu and rid the evil on Earth. In a desperate and prideful attempt, Vegeta used every ounce of his power in an area attack on Buu, unleashing his energy in order to kill every one of Buu’s cells. Unfortunately, it didn’t work, but the sacrifice is one of thebest moments in Dragon Ball.

5Instant Transmission

After Goku had defeated Frieza and all the fighters evacuated Namek to avoid the planet’s inevitable destruction, Goku was forced upon a new planet other than Earth. In his time at this planet, the planet’s native people taught Goku their special technique, and this was the famous Instant Transmission.

Instant Transmission is essentially a form of teleporting. Goku is the only one of the Z Fighters that is capable of this move, as he has learned to hone in on familiar energies and teleport himself, and others touching him, to that energy. This move became a fan favorite in combination with other moves to perform devastating attacks.

4Destructo Disk

Krillin doesn’t get too much of the spotlightafter Dragon Ball and the Frieza Saga of Dragon Ball Z, but one of his very own signature attacks has become a fan-favorite for decades. This popular move is the Destructo Disk. Destructo Disk is Krillin’s famously used signature move that even Goku has replicated before.

Destruto Disk is energy that is shaped in the form of razor sharp disks, sharp enough to cut through almost anything. Usually, Krillin is shown throwing out two Destructo Disks, one with each hand, but when the situation is dire, Krillin unleashes a barrage of disks.

3Solar Flare

Not only did Krillin create one of the most beloved attacks seen in the Dragon Ball anime, but even Tien has showcased one of the best signature moves used by the Z Fighters that has come in handy on multiple occasions. Solar Flare was first used by Tien during his fight with Goku in a World Tournament back in Dragon Ball.

In Dragon Ball Z, the move is used more noticeably by Krillin, as the Z Fighter uses the move more often to escape rather than attack. Either way, Solar Flare has become a fan-favorite as characters in the show take advantage of Tien’s intelligent move.

2Chocolate Beam

The Buu Saga truly has revealed a large variety of different moves that are easily remembered by fans, as they are each very unique on their own. These are moves like Buu’s Absorb, Spirit Sword, Galactic Donut, and more! Arguably the best and most unqiue of those moves is Buu’s Chocolate Beam. Majin Buu, being as innocent as he is, has a move that he uses with his little antenna at the top of his head.

This Chocolate Beam turns anyone that is hit with the beam into a bar of chocolate. It is notably used by Super Buu on Vegito after Buu turned Vegito into candy. This move is more than amazing to use in any Dragon Ball fighting game against opponents.

1Kamehameha

At the number one spot on this list, finally, inevitably, is the most iconic signature move from the series: the famous Kamehameha Wave. People who haven’t even watched Dragon Ball could more thanlikely recognize Gokuand the Kamehameha move.

The Kamehameha Wave has been used and seen by fans ever since Master Roshi first taught Goku and Krillin how to use the move back in Dragon Ball. Since then, Goku, as well as many of the Z Fighters, has used the Kamehameha Wave to destroy enemies and defend Earth, their pride, and in general to showcase their strength.
