Ultimate abilities are meant to be the pinnacle of power. As such, they not only need to offer a massive amount of mechanical value via gameplay, but they need to make youfeelpowerful. Like you’re impacting the battlefield in a legendary way.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Best Warrior Abilities
With plenty of warrior abilities to choose from, some just hit harder than others.
Dragon Age: The Veilguardoffers a total of 12 key ultimate abilities: one general ultimate for each core class and one ultimate for each of the nine specializations.

While they all aid in the fulfillment of their individual class fantasies, some are just cooler than others, so let’s take a look at them.
Since it is difficult to compare ultimates from a gameplay standpoint across classes, this article will focus on the “cool factor” primarily.

12Warden’s Fire
Sound The Horn!
Specialization
Champion Warrior
Damage Type
Warden’s Fire is the first on this list for one reason: you, as the player, are not the one displaying your power. Rather, the Grey Wardens do it for you, as theyrain arrow fire down in front of you.
While it still looks spectacular, all the other ultimate abilities demonstrate your own power as Rook, making this one feel a tad lacking.

11Twin Gifts of Arlathan
Release The… Spinning Blades?
Veil Ranger Rogue
Electricity
Next up is an ultimate that comes very close to Warden’s Fire due to your own power not necessarily being the focal point.
That said, the twin spinning blades used here are supposedly a creation of Rook’s design. So, although it’s not your power that’s on display here, your mind as aVeil Jumpercertainly is.

10Fortune’s Fury
It’s A Big Gun
Saboteur Rogue
Fortune’s Fury is next up and relatively low on this list for the same reason as Twin Gifts of Arlathan: your mental prowess is what’s on display as opposed to your magical strength.
It’s simply higher than what came before it because it looks better. You’re essentially pulling out a disposable mini turret and mowing down your enemieswith it.

It is equal parts hilarious and cool.
9For Gold And Glory
Big Jump, Big Wow
Slayer Warrior
For Gold and Glory is an empowering ultimate to use, but it is as low as it is on this list due to how quick it is.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard: Best Bellara Companion Build
Creating a strong Bellara Companion build can take some work in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Here’s how to do it.
Make no mistake: usingthe power of your rage to leap up into the air and crash downin an earth-shattering fashion (literally) is amazing. But it ends so fast that you barely have time to appreciate the full extent of its strength.
Perhaps adding a second shockwave after the initial impact would’ve made this ultimate rank higher.
8Destructive Light
Kamehameha!
The first mage ultimate on this list is its standard one, Destructive Light. It is abeautiful beam of sheer elemental power– combining fire, ice, and lightning – that is a beautiful sight to behold, albeit a linear one.
There are definitely better arcana-powered ultimate attacks on offer from the mage class, but even the worst Mage ultimate is still pretty damn cool.
7Concussive Barrage
Drop A Bomb… Or Thirty
Core Rogue
Concussive Barrage is unmistakably one of the simpler ultimates in the game. Furthermore, it falls in line with the same school of thought as the former two rogue ultimates listed already.
However, what puts it above the others isthe sheer scale of explosives used, coupled with the visual and sound designs.
And on top of that, you’re not just standing in one place when using this ultimate. You do a really cool spider jump(with some wacky hang time), adding a nice touch of finesse to it that Fortune’s Fury and Twin Gifts of Arlathan lack.
6Flashing Fists
The Ground Insulted You
Core Warrior
Although Flashing Fists is the first ultimate you unlock as a warrior, it is nonetheless one of the best ones, asit exemplifies what a true warrior looks likewhen unleashing their power.
The approach is quite simple:punch the ground really, reallyhard three times and then shoulder bashit even harder because why not?
Feeling the brutal impact of each of these strikes, coupled with watching the ground crack and break under the weight of your strength, is gorgeous.
5The Crypt’s Herald
Hit Enemies With Their Own Souls
Death Caller Mage
The second mage ultimate up is The Crypt’s Herald, and it is the darkest one yet.
Themed around theMourn Watch, you draw in the souls of all enemies around you, and like the mage’s Spirit Bomb ability, convert that energy into a final, deadly explosion.
Just on a much grander and epic scale, of course.
4Murder of Crows
More Than A Thousand Cuts
Duelist Rogue
Following The Crypt’s Herald is another dark ultimate, thoughMurder of Crows is themed around the Antivan Crowsinstead of their necromantic counterparts.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard: 13 Essential Beginner Tips
If you want to step up and lead your band of heroes, you’ll need to know a thing or two.
This ultimate, while not ranked the highest, is easily the best rogue ultimate due to how incredible it looks and feels to use.
It accomplishes exactly what you would expect to see fromthe apex of power of a sword master.
Additionally, the final dervish of blade slices at the end pulls everything together and gives a very strong “cool guys don’t look at explosions” feeling.
3Vortex of Shadow
The Cold Dark Beckons…
Evoker Mage
You summon a black hole. A black hole. How can you possibly get something better than that? Well, there are a couple of ultimates that do get better than that, but it is mainly due to one reason.
The key thing Vortex of Shadow lacks is an explosive ending, which is a little bit of missed potential. But even despite that, summoning a black hole is too cool not to rank highly, landing it third place on this list.
