What Happened Previously On Dr Stone?
Senku’s team made significant progress in their search for oil thanks to Senku’s reinvention of the camera. Gen noticed a suspicious blur in one of the photos, prompting Chrome and Ukyo to investigate. The team harvested their first crop of wheat and celebrated the opening of Ryusui’s three-star Francois restaurant.
Francois set out on a quest to find truffles and enlisted Suika’s help. After discovering a possible boar in Senku’s pictures, Kohaku easily captured two boars and some piglets to start the Kingdom’s first pig farm. The team also found black mushrooms in the photos, leading them to the Sagara Oil Field.
The scene shifted to Francois and Suika, who went on a truffle search with a young boar, who ate it after they found it. Meanwhile, Senku and his team were unsuccessful in their oil field search, prompting Senku to rethink their strategy. He realized that the key to finding the Sagara Oil Field was the boars, just as it was discovered in 1872. They rushed back to Suika and Francois before the latter could cook the boar they had used for the truffle search.
Senku created an engine motorboat to test the quality of the oil. Taiju recognized the oil’s smell as the “love potion” Senku made in the old world. Senku revealed that it was just gasoline with similar carbon content as the Sagara Fields' oil. The gang successfully tested the boat in the open seas.
Senku announced their next project was to make a GPS using the lookout tower’s hydro-powered antenna as a radio beacon. However, their long-distance conversation was interrupted by a powerful signal emitting from somewhere, which Gen identified as morse code saying “WHY.” Senku deduced the signal’s timing and recipient to be the one behind humanity’s petrification.
