The past few years have been an exciting time for developer Larian Studios. In 2017, the studio released its acclaimed RPGDivinity: Original Sin 2, and not too long after it was confirmed that the studio would be flexing its RPG strengths with the upcomingBaldur’s Gate 3. Afterwe saw more ofBaldur’s Gate 3yesterdayduring the Guerrilla Collective, the studio has given more exciting news from the world ofDivinity.
During the second installment of the Guerrilla Collective showcase, developer Larian Studios presented some new trailers forDivinity: Original Sin 2that should have fans of the acclaimed RPG excited. The first announcement was that a new DLC Gift Bag is available now for players called “The Four Relics of Rivellon,” which is available as a free update to all owners of theDefinitive Editionof the game on consoles and PC.
According to Larian, the new DLC pack is “the biggest Gift Bag of free content to date” forOriginal Sin 2, and features “new quests, new loot and new enemies,” and will “enable players to adventure throughout the world of Rivellon hunting for four brand new sets of armour.” The new content will be available across the console and PC versions of the game by tomorrow (Monday, June 15).
In addition to the new DLC gift bag, Larian Studios also announced that a graphic novel set in theDivinityuniverse is currently in the works. The graphic novel is calledDivinity: Original Sin 2 - Godwoken, and according to Larian is a prequel that will show the events leading up to what transpires inOriginal Sin 2.
There is no confirmed release date just yet for the book, but Larian detailed with the reveal trailer thatGodwokenwill provide readers with the origin stories “of all 6 of the Godwoken,” which is told across a 300+ page, full-color graphic novel. The book will also aim to take readers through “never-before seen areas of Rivellon,” adding some enticing backstory to the beloved RPG universe.
The graphic novel will be available in two editions – a standard edition softcover book ($29.99) and collector’s edition hardcover book ($59.99) – thatyou can pre-order right now from Larian Studios' official website.
Divinity: Original Sin 2is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac.
