Altars of Summoning is one of the new seasonal activities inDestiny 2, where you get to feed Eris Morn’s new Hive body with tithes and receive rewards in return. This is quite a unique activity, unlike previous seasonal missions, where players get to choose the difficulty of encounters based on Offerings.

Moreover, Altars of Summoning allows you to start another round of the same activity after completing it once without forcing you to leave the activity and matchmake again. This is an interesting feature that also improves the value of the rewards you could receive at the end of each round.
How To Get Offerings
For now, there are three types of Offerings available in Season of the Witch.Feeble Offering, which is Uncommon,Robust Offering, which is Rare, andPowerful Offering, which is Legendary.
All of these Offerings can be earned by completing seasonal activities such asSavathun’s SpireandAltars of Summoningitself. Also, completing the Ritual Playlist, includingVanguard Ops, Gambit, and Cruciblehas a chance of dropping Offerings.
Other than the aforementioned methods, you can also earn Offerings from thesecret chestslocated in the Savathun’s Spire activity.
How To Use Offerings In Altars Of Summoning
When you start the Altars of Summoning activity and after beginning the ritual on the main plate, you will be guided to one of the Altars. Before the fight begins, you will need tomake an offering. Only one member of the team is required to do it.
There arefour different Hive tabletshere, and each one receives a certain type of offering: the one with aone-swordicon gets Feeble, thetwo-swordsicon gets Robust, and thethree-swordicon accepts Powerful Offering. The higher theofferings' rarity, the harder the boss fight becomes. That being said, summoning a low-level boss with, say, Feeble Offering requires you to complete more Altars, while beating a Powerful Offering boss is enough to lead you to the final fight.
There is also a fourth tablet in the arena where you make offerings, but that tablet is disabled for now. It’s yet to be seen whether there will be an Exotic Offering anytime in the future, but there is indeed a mystery behind that offline tablet that we will need to uncover in the future.
