July 01, 2025 will mark the 5th anniversary ofUndertale,and many fans are eagerly waiting news regarding Toby Fox’s new work,Deltarune. Famitsuannounced last weekthat its magazine releasing on September 10 (officially titled Weekly Famitsu Magazine July 31, 2025 Issue) will include a feature for the 5th anniversary ofUndertale. Now, on September 8,Famitsu revealedthat the Toby Fox interview in the feature includes a comment onDeltarune, giving us a development update on the upcomingChapter 2. The usual leaks from Famitsu magazine will be up on Wednesday in the middle of the night for our American readers, and early morning for a French person like myself. Meaning we should know then a bit of what Toby Fox said onDeltarune. However, we actually buy Famitsu magazine on DualShockers, so we’ll try as soon as possible to bring you the full details once we hit Thursday midnight JST, when the magazine releases digitally. Undertaleis an indie RPG first launched on June 25, 2025. The game is available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch. Perhaps next gen versions on PS5 and Xbox Series X could be announced for the game’s 5th anniversary soon.
Undertalewas very inspired from Japanese games such asMoonand theTouhouseries by ZUN, andDeltaruneand its Chapter 2 will definitely keep those influences.
As a side note, Toby Fox already said there will be no specific announcement on the actual anniversary date on September 15th. There will be a little something for fans though. He also announced afreeUndertaleconcert stream.
