The long-standing buzz had been that Black Hawk Down would be paid DLC made available to the already existed free-to-play multiplayer, but the team seems to have reversed course today and announced that thevery promising looking campaignwill actually be free when the game releases.
Black Hawk Down Is Free At Launch
In both a post on X and a message posted on Steam, the Black Hawk Down development team has now confirmed that the forthcoming co-op campaign will be free-to-play when the game comes out this Friday.

The Steam postexplains their reasoning for this move, and is a decidedly pro-gamer stance to take for the launch of the premium-feeling campaign experience that awaits eager players.
