Bonney is just 12 years old, but in the scene, she has turned herself into an adult woman but the scene itself shows Bonney naked and sexualizes her body. The main issue is that despite Bonney assuming an adult body in the scene,her actual age is still 12.Thus, sexualizing her body has not been received well byOne Piecefans.

Many have resorted to criticizing the animator, while others have defended him since he was just doing his job. Theanimator did reply to all the criticismon social media. Interestingly, he admitted that while animating the sequence, he had no idea about her real age.

Episode 9 ofDandadanshowed the aftereffect of Momo, Okarun, and Aira defeating the Serpos and the monsters targeting them. The three had to strip in order to survive the flooded school in the empty space. But once the enemies were defeated, the empty space lifted, and they were left naked in front of the whole school.

As the two started to run, Aira joined them, also naked. Everyone had assumed that the scene from the manga might be altered a bit before animating, but to everyone’s surprise, it was not.
The creators at Science SARU have simply leaned into the source material, and have avoided censoring the scene. But given that the characters were not overly sexualized and were still depicted with realistic teenage bodies is a relief. Science SARU did adda goofy animation techniqueto the sequence to make it more lighthearted.
