The phased approach creates a sense of urgency and allows fans to give the series a attempt to see if the premium subscription could be worth it. Moreover, by the time fans are done with the hundreds of episodes that are available for free, they will be hooked toEiichiro Oda’s compelling storytelling.

A Great Opportunity For Fans, But the Decision Could Backfire

Any new developments with Crunchyroll quickly become a topic of discussion among anime fans, as it’s one of the primary platforms that cater to the fandom. Creating this deadline and allowing a generous time frame before the new changes are implemented will nudge new fans to finally start watching the series, especially if they had been planning to do so.
