Creature Commandosrockets through another great episode, accompanied by a scintillating soundtrack and focused on the origin story of G.I. Robot. The episode blends an odd mix of bloodshed and poignant reminiscence, making for an excellent showcase of Sean Gunn’s (Gilmore Girls, The Guardians of the Galaxyfranchise) talent, the brother of James Gunn.

My Old Ass Review — A Hilarious and Tender Coming of Age Tale

Gunn provides the voice for the robotic member of Easy Company and also delivers the inaudible mumbling of the Weasel. The third chapter, titled “Cheers to the Tin Man,” is thought-provoking, beautifully crafted, and continues to be a surprisingly melancholic tale. It is safe to say that this devilishly creative series is off to a rip-roaring start!

We cannot wait to see what Gunn and company come up with next!

Max’sCreature CommandosSeason 1 Episode 3: Who Kills GI Robot?

Shockingly, Circe takes our beloved GI Robot and tears him apart with her purple mystical energy blasts. This is after we find out the background of GI Robot. He was designed to kill Nazi soldiers and their associates. We see him defend his brothers of “Easy Company.” (If you ever watched HBO’s Band of Brothers, this was the group the miniseries was about.)

After the war, he tours, even on a late-night talk show. However, all the “Tin Man” wants to do is talk about killing Nazis. He meets Dr. Will Magnus, who was to develop the robot with his brand of artificial intelligence. From there, he unveils a chalkboard that looks like the development of the “Metal Men” or the “Autonomous” creatures.

Decades later, GI Robot is sold at an army surplus store, where some neo-Nazis buy him. The “Tin Man” kills them all, while James Gunn plays “Coin-Operated Boy” by The Dresden Dolls.

Who Saves Ilana?

In a surprise move, after killing two of Circe’s maga-loving soldiers, Weasel attacks Circe before she can the Ilana. The animals tackle the villain, crashing from the top-floor window to the ground below. There, the Weasel claws and bites her maliciously. While he holds her down, Doctor Phosphorus (Alan Tudyk) burns her face while saying, “I love a good barbecue!”

After, The Bride (Indira Varma) tells Rick Flag, Sr (Frank Grillo), “You wanted monsters? You got them!” Weasel begins to lick the blood off his hands while Doctor Phosphorus stands proudly around Circe, celebrating their victory. However, Wonder Woman’s frequent opposer yells something ominous, endingCreature Commandosthat surprises the group.

The GI Robot’s final words are, “Oh, what a beautiful day! Cheers to the Tin Man!” The AI creature tells this to Nina, who finds his head among the wreckage of Circe blasted him out of the sky. Nina (Zoë Chao), now wearing her helmet with what I assume can only be salt water, begins to tear up, holding her only friend’s decapitated metal head.
