Over the past week, oneSteamgame garnered quite a bit of controversy due to its content more so than its gameplay. While it’s not a AAA title, it did show a different kind of violence, which made some people uneasy.
It left enough of a bad impression that the developers had to pull the game from the digital storefront on all regions after receiving major backlash.

One Of The Most Controversial Games Of All-Time Is Steam Deck Verified
One game that brings controversy whenever it’s mentioned is now Steam Deck verified ahead of its release.
“No Mercy” Was Given No Mercy By Gamers For Its Focus On Sexual Violence
If you haven’t heard of No Mercy, it is a 3D visual novel featuring incest and even non-consensual sex. After drumming up controversy, Valve pulled the game, and developer, Zerat Games provideda lengthy statementabout the topics they chose to feature.
Zerat Games mentioned how “false information about the content in the game was very often repeated” and how people created video content and spoke about things in the game that weren’t in it. In short, the studio slammed people for spreading fake news, stating, “However, think twice about whether it’s worth repeating everything you’ve heard from someone and whether the information you’re passing on is actually true. Better yet, do some work yourself instead of blindly chasing views.”

Moreover, the studio also touched upon what they claim are “fabricated stories” where people who play No Mercy then go out and commit these vile deeds. This reminds me of the time when Mortal Kombat was slammed by politicans since they assumed kids would play the game, and then do fatalities in real life (sort of).
Amazon Issuing Warnings On Popular Xbox Controller
The Microsoft Bluetooth Elite Series 2 Controller is marked as a “frequently returned item” on Amazon’s store listing.
The developers state that they do not intend to fight the whole world, nor do they want to cause any problems for Steam and Valve. With that said, they have made the decision to withdraw No Mercy from Steam.

For those that bought the game before the game was blocked on the platform, you won’t lose access to it.
I’m conflicted about this, as while the game does present controversial topics, we’ve seen worse things done in games. Shouldn’t people have the option to play what they want? Age-gate it heavily instead of telling people what they can and cannot play.

If Zerat Games decides to bring the game back, we’ll let our readers know.
GTA 5 Is Finally “Playable” On Steam Deck With One Major Downside
Combining the current leader in handheld games and a title like GTA 5 seems almost to good to be true, and for good reason.
