The post claimed that Hoover had the option to get back the rights to her book if“the current owner would be accused of something heinous.”The post suggested that Lively and her husbandRyan Reynoldsallegedly wanted to purchase the rights to the book but Baldoni didn’t accept any offers to sell.
The conspiracy suggested that the Hollywood couple resorted to the s*xual harassment complaint as per the morality clause in Hoover’s contract. The post claimed that Hoover believed she could make endless money out of her books if backed by Reynolds and Lively. It was alleged thatHoover’s support of Lively came out of this intention.
Once Lively filed her complaint on December 20, Hoover took to her Instagram story and wrote,“You have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met. One TikTok user, who goes byJac Vanek, explored the claims made in the Reddit post. After reading the allegations against Hoover in the post, Vanek presented some more arguments supporting it. She shared an October article fromCelebrating the Soapswith the title,“Ryan Reynolds Reportedly Wants To “Buy Out” Justin Baldoni From ‘It Ends With Us’ At Any Cost.”

Vanek expressed doubt over the“at any cost”part of the title, sharing that the report suggested that Reynolds badly wanted the rights from Baldoni. Further, doubling down on the allegations over rights, Vanek presented another video that supported the argument. In the video, Lively and Hoover appeared together in an interview withCNN Brazilto promoteIt Ends With Us.
When the interviewer asked Hoover and Lively about a potential sequel, Lively shared,“I mean if Colleen has the rights, I’ll go anywhere. I’ll follow this woman anywhere.”Both the women laughed, with Hoover adding,“Y’all heard her.”
Vanek claimed that if Baldoni had the rights and did not intend to sell, it did not make sense that they were talking about Hoover having the rights.
