Zack Snyder expects the franchise to take off, which depends on audiences and fans rather than critics and Rotten Tomatoes scores. Fans have decided that they are still hyped for the release of the film on 21st December 2023, despite all the bad reception it is receiving from critics.
The divide between critics and fans has become a worrying phenomenon in Hollywood, when critics and fans deliver polar opposite ratings to the same film, causing a lot of films to be buried under bad ratings. Given that Google only displays the critic’s rating of a film, such animosity towards particular directors can be harmful to not only individuals but also the industry at large.
