The mysterious and surreal world ofClair Obscur: Expedition 33is home to many strange creatures and characters. Among them are the animated beasts known as Nevrons, often who appear as enemies but sometimes as allies too.

In many of the game’s main regions, white-painted Nevrons can be found, usually in states of disrepair, and can be helped in exchange for unique rewards such as weapons, outfits and pictos.

Just as story-rich and with hyperactive combat. Well, to some extent.

Not all the white Nevrons are immediately obvious at first, and some of them will require you to travel off the beaten path. However, these unique side quests are well worth seeking out nonetheless.

Each time you meet a friendly Nevron, you’ll also be given the option to kill or spare it, with rewards differing depending on the choice you make. If you spare all the Nevrons, the final one, Blanche, will reward players with 100xColour of Lumina, so it’s worth taking that into consideration before attacking any of them.

Jar (Spring Meadows)

The first of the white Nevrons you’ll come across is the Jar in Spring Meadows. It is located near the Indigo Tree and will likely be encountered as you progress through the main story events.

For this Nevron, you’ll have to retrieve some “Light” for him. The best way to do so is by heading through the blue-lit corridor where you’ll encounter an Abbest and two Lanceliers.

After defeating them, head into the area overgrown with blue roots and retrieve the purple item from the pile of barrels nearby.

Handing in the quest will reward you with aHealing Tint Shard, but it’s not over there. you may still choose to attack Jar if you wish and gain a further 3xColour of Luminaand 1xChroma Catalyst.

Demineur (Flying Waters)

In the Flying Waters close to Expedition 68’s ship, if you head through the large circular jar entrance, a white Demineur can be seen standing still with a number of large sea mines in the water around him.

This particular Nevron will ask you to retrieve his bomb for him, and to do so you will need todescend the nearby rock formations and jump across themuntil you reach a small clearing on the other side of the ravine.

From here, you’ll be able to retrieve a mine which is highlighted in purple to south. If you fall off the platforms while trying to make it across, simply head back in the direction of the Demineur and climb the handles to start over again.

Having retrieved the mine, hand it over to the Nevron, then choose either to spare or attack him.

Small Bourgeon (Ancient Sanctuary)

From the Ancient Sanctuary portal, you’re able to find a white Nevron by heading west on The Continent until you reach an area named Small Bourgeon.

Once inside, you will see a white-painted Bourgeon, smaller than the usual ones, who will ask you to retrieve a Bourgeon skin for him in order to reunite with his mistress.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: How To Get And Use Bourgeon Skin

Wondering where you may find the skin for the white Bourgeon in Flying Waters? Here is how to get and use Bourgeon skin in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

You can retrieve this by defeating any nearby Bourgeons on The Continent, you can find plenty to the east in both the open Continent and in areas such as Flying Waters.

Once you’ve managed to defeat one, take the skin back to Small Bourgeon and he will ask you to come back once he has grown in size. Either rest at camp orprogress through the story missionsfor a while, then return to Small Bourgeon to receive yourColour of Luminareward.

Hexga (Stone Wave Cliffs)

One of the more intimidating creature designs in Clair Obscur is the Hexga. These crystal-studded rock creatures are very menacing in appearance, though generally quite easy to defeat in combat.

The friendly Hexga can be found collapsed in the Stone Wave Cliffs near the cave entrance by the Old Farm. He will ask you to retrieve 3 Glowing Rock Crystals, all of which can be obtained from the cave nearby.

The first two crystals will be quite obvious, though patrolling enemy Hexgas will be in the area and likely need to be defeated. The final crystal can be found by heading round the left-hand path and jumping over the rocks.

In my experience, characters like Maelle or Lune were better for this jump puzzle. I know that, mechanic-wise, it doesn’t change a thing, but it seemed easier.

Once you’ve collected all 3 crystals, return to the white Hexga for your reward. The Hexga will grant the uniqueAuto Shellpictos, whichgrants players the Shell combat bonusat the start of each battle when equipped.

Bennisseur (Red Woods)

Bennisseurs are the fountain-shaped creatures which use spitting attacks and are generally encountered in Sirene or the Red Woods. This particular white Nevron will ask you to deposit 5,000 Chroma.

Once you’ve done this, it will ask for another donation of 10,000, then 25,000 and finally 50,000. While this is, of course, too steep of a price to pay all at once, you can always come back to the Bennisseur throughout your playthrough to make the deposits.

It’s worth doing so because, in exchange, you will receive one of the most powerful Pictos in the game, Recovery, which automatically heals 10% of Health on every turn start.

Troubador (Stone Quarry)

Troubadors are certainly some of the most creative Nevrons in Clair Obscur, and can be identified by theirlarge trumpets which they use to attack with. The white Troubador can be found in the Stone Quarry region, near the Forgotten Battlefield on the main Continent.

Having accidentally killed off his own friends with his deadly instrument, the white Troubador will ask you to help him relearn his instrument so that it will not cause any further harm.

More Expeditions To Come!

The conversation triggers a fun little rhythm game in which you’ll need to dodge or parry any incoming red orbs, while allowing green orbs to hit you. Unfortunately, even a single misstep will cause the whole trail to start over again.

Once you have successfully completed three rounds of this challenge, the Troubador will grant you theHealing ParryPictos - one of the most effective in the game for players who have mastered the art of defensive timing.

Portier (Old Lumiere)

Just to the west of Old Lumiere, you’ll find a small portal leading to the Esoteric Ruins. If you go inside and head to the North, you’ll come across a mysterious glowing orb who will ask you to define what a spirit is.

While there are three different dialogue responses, they won’t have a bearing on how the quest plays out. Simply speak to the spirit again in order to start the side quest.

The spirit will ask you to retrieve an item from the Esoteric Ruins maze. To complete the maze you will need to do the following steps:

In this area on the other side of the maze, you will come across three purple items which you’re able to loot. The wooden boards are the one the spirit is looking for, and these can be found on the slanted roof in the center.

Having retrieved the items, the maze will close and you will have to go around using the grappling points over the crumbled buildings. Then, you may head back to the spirit to turn in the items. This will cause it to transform into a Portier, completing the quest as a result.

Danseuse Teacher (Frozen Hearts)

In theFrozen Hearts area near Monoco’s Station, close to the Glacial Falls Rest Point, you will come across a white Danseuse Teacher who will ask you to engage in a ‘Parry Dance’.

Upon accepting the challenge, you’ll be thrown into combat mode and have to endure a 15-strike attack from the Danseuse.

Although you don’t have to parry every single attack, and simply just need to survive, the damage you’ll take will be substantial, so it helps to have the parrying skill mastered before trying to take on this challenge.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: 10 Best Pictos If You Suck At Parrying

Complaining because developers added reactive actions to a turn-based RPG? I got you.

Fortunately, you can always repeat the challenge if you fail, which gives you the opportunity to learn the rhythm of the attack pattern.

Completing the challenge will reward you with the unique Danseuse Outfit for Lune, one of the best outfits in the game.

Chalier (Floating Cemetery)

In order to reach the Floating Cemetery, you’ll need to unlock Esquie’s flying ability first. Once you’ve done this, head to the floating island south-west of Gestral Beach.

The Chalier here will ask you to choose a weapon for it to yield. Unsurprisingly, it’s you that the weapon will be used on, so pick one you feel comfortable dealing with. The hammer will be the slowest and most predictable to evade, so I’d highly recommend choosing that over the Spear or Sword.

Defeat the Chalier in battle. Don’t worry - it will still be able to talk to you afterwards. As a side note, its worth remembering that Chaliers are weak to Light damage while they have a resistance to Dark, so ensure you select appropriate skills and attacks beforehand.

The Chalier will reward you with theLonger Shell, but due to its shame in defeat, will ask to be killed. Keep in mind that sparing all Nevrons will lead to a much greater reward in the end - the Chalier is no exception andshould be spared to achieve the best possible outcome.

Blanche (The Fountain)

The final white Nevron is the Blanche located in The Fountain to the west of Spring Meadows. There is no special challenge associated with the Blanche.

You can either turn in your prior side quests for 100xColour of Lumina, provided you have spared all white Nevrons throughout the game and completed their requests. Or, you can attack the Blanche and kill it for a lesser reward.

With that, you will have completed all possible Nevron side quests in the game.
