Paradox Interactivehas announced thatCities: Skylineswill receive a series of new content packs and free updates as part of its World Tour event, which is scheduled to begin on November 15th. The publisher also revealed a free-to-play weekend for Cities: Skylines, starting on November 10th and ending on November 14th.

The World Tour expansion series will kick off with a South Korean-inspired Content Creator Pack on November 15th, featuring 60 new assets consisting of service buildings and growable buildings. Additionally, a new K-Pop radio station with 16 songs, 80’s Downtown Beat radio, a free update featuring unique vehicles and roads, plus the ‘Skyscrapers’ content pack with iconic buildings from NA, EU, Asia, Australia, and Africa, will be added to the game next week.

The second part of the expansion series will continue on December 13th with the Financial Districts Pack, which adds the new “investments” feature and more than a hundred assets. Players can invest their money into various sectors such as oil, farming, generic industry, health, or logistics, to improve the lives of citizens. They can also level up their investments with the stock exchange. Besides that, when players reach the “Big Town” milestone, they will unlock new districts for office zones and build banks to decrease the criminality rate. As for Financial Districts, they introduce a new visual style and generate higher taxes than office zones.

Apart from the two mini expansions above, Cities: Skylines adds ‘Map Pack 2’, featuring ten maps that represent different biomes such as Desert, Tropical, Temperate, and Boreal. It allows players to build more diverse cities with the help of new features, buildings, maps, and assets. Last but not least, a new Radio Station influenced by traditional African music will be added on December 13th, featuring 16 tracks and more than one-hour music. Paradox Interactive assured players that the World Tour event will continue into 2023 with Africa in Miniature, a new content pack created by indie Nigerian developers. It will also have its own radio station with new tracks. Cities: Skylines is now available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, Stadia, Mac, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
